I have an RCA rear Projection TV model # p60812BL manufactured in 1998, no sound is coming from the tv when watching cable TV via a digital box. When the mute button is pressed and unpressed you can hear the sound clicking on and off and same thing when turning the volume up and down but nothing comes out when watching cable tv. However when the game console connected via AV jacks is played the sound is perfect. Please help

It depends on how you have the box hooked to the tv, is it via cable (co-ax) connection or rca (red yellow white) cables ? You may have the audio hooked wrong or it may be a blown input in which case switch to a new input on the back of the tv (possibly the one you used for game systems). If ur using a co-ax connection from the box try rca cables and if ur using rca try co-ax. If none of this helps call ur cable provider and tell them the box doesn't have any audio and u know it's not ur tv. Usually they will come fix it 4 free and try n educate you to what went wrong.

Crosley projection tv

Sounds like one is not recognizing the other, By you not being to get into the set up menu means it is not seeing your blue ray player. Are you sure they are compatible? If so then if there is another way to hook it up, like with RCA cables then try that. Also make sure that there is not more than one S-video option on it.

No they do not have digital tuners inside them. They are meant to be monitors to converter boxes, cable boxes, and satellite television receivers.

Does the RCA TV model D52W20 have a digital tuner? or will I need a cable box to watch TV? At our location they just switched the signal. we just had a tube TV with the cable line in the back and up till...

Greetings Pete - No, your display is what is called HDTV ready, meaning it needs a separate tuner AKA set top box.

You need to get the cable box, plug in the component video cables into your TV (usually provided) and plug in audio cables and you're viewing HDTV. See below:

Rca projection tv sound coming a nd going

Check to see if it happens from two sources, such as a cable box, cable from the wall, dvd player and/or game system. If it happens with all of them the issue is the tv, and it needs to be repaired or you can purchase a surround sound system for your audio and keep the tv muted. If it happens with only one source, replace the source.

Setting up receive set top box and tv for surround sound

Plug the TV to an open channel on your receiver via this output:
*Rear, 1 x Digital audio output (coaxial) ( TOSLINK )
This will look like a single RCA output plug.
Set that input channel on your receiver to some sort of virtual surround mode because it doesn't look like your HDTV has a decoder in it (meaning it will come out stereo and the receiver will have to fake it).
Turn the volume all the way down on the TV and use the receiver to control TV volume just as you do with DVDs.

*Substitute this with the digital audio output on your set top box if you are sending video only to the TV from the set top box (component, DVI or s-video connections). So video goes to the TV, audio to the receiver.
