My Maytag Neptune TL Washer keeps giving me the dc (unbalanced) and uc (can't spin) codes. It seems to **t want to go into spin during the rinse cycle. I have readjusted the load, but ** matter; it does it again and again. I can stop it and start spin only and it will work - may need a readjustment of the load (whether small or larger) and start spin again. But, I need to find out what is wrong as babying it along is **t the answer. Help! I have similar problems to Donna's. Washer works fine until final spin, then I get a dc error code. No amount of readjusting the load has an impact. Washer was purchased in 2004. I also purchased my Neptune TL in 2004 and in July 2008 it started having the same issue. With about 11 or 12 minutes remianing in the wash cycle, it will not advance to Spin. Please let me know if it is possible to repair the issue or if I should just go ahead and buy a new washing machine.
If the clutch fails the first thing noticed is a UC or DC error displayed and there is no drain or spin.
If you are seeing the above error and having a problem with spin and drain then the most likely cause of this is the clutch. The clutch fails to lock down the spinners and the basket is unable to go into spin and without a 90 RPM there is no drain.
Replace the clutch.

When I have a small load or a "bulky" load it won't spin...out of balance. The only way that I can get it to spin is to put two very large "beach" towels (dry) in with the wet....then it will work. What a pain. I bought mine in November 2004. No support...no help.
We will be going out a buying another machine from anyone but Maytag. What a piece of junk!!!
Same problem, stops with code 'dc' and leaves clothes soaking wet. Only solution is to hand-wring the clothes and finish out the cycle with the washer empty.
Going into the spin cycle the washer tumbles the load and then tries to start spinning; upon the first "bump" of unbalance it shuts off the spin, waits, and tumbles again. After about 5 times it gives up and displays dc.
I found the service manual and put the washer into its service mode. Codes 84, 10, and 22 were logged. After a reset only code 84 reappears after performing a quick spin test. This code isn't documented in the manual. What is it?
It looks like the tumble displacement sensor is working ok, maybe the struts fail after a really bad unbalanced load and have to be replaced. With our unit, there is no indication the control board or clutch are bad.
What a waste of money. Unless its a part I can replace, I'll go out and buy a whirlpool and send this unit to the dump.
