I have a Samsung 13kg fully automatic washing machine WA13V5. It gave an error message 5E and stopped working. The book says the error message stands for the water does not drain. The filters are clean. What can the problem be? Could it be the pump? How can I test it? Thanks

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
To test the pump see near the end ------->

Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the filter and the motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!
John C

Samsung front load washing machine 5E Error code

If your Samsung washer is in the middle of a drain cycle and the 5E error code shows on your washers display, it means that the water is not properly draining out of the washer. Something may be clogged, jammed, or blocked and thus preventing water from draining out of the washer.

We have moved house and plumbed in our machine and code 5E has come up Any ideas what is going wrong and how to fix it

My Samsung washing machine had shown the 5E error message previously and after unplugging it and restarting it the machine always came back to life. This time I had no such luck so I followed Greg's advice above and after removing three nails it's working fine again!

I want to know what de code stands for on a SAMSUNG WA13F5S2UWW 13KG WH T LOADER Washing Machine

The error code is presented when a "child lock" error has occurred--you will see either "CL" or "DE". You can clear the error after the washer drains. This error condition prevents a child from drowning if he or she should fall into the tub. After the washer drains and the alarm has sounded, close the door, turn the power off, then back on. This instruction set comes straight out of the user manual. This user manual can be found at http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201408/20140828102900808/F500S_GOOD_DC68-03273M-02_EN_FA_NQ_20140512.pdf

I have a Maytag MAH-24 Washing Machine showing a 5E error code

You will have to contact Maytag and speak to their service dept and give them your model number. Ask them what a 5E eror is and when you call for service, tell the repair facility what Maytag told you. That will next to eliminate labor cost for Diagnostic.
