My IBM Wheelwriter is making beeping/chirping noises. The storage light is not on and I changed the batteries. Problem occurred after changing out old ribbon...now my typewriter sounds like it swallowed Tweedy Bird.

I assume it churps on each keystroke. Try code "S".

IBM Wheelwriter 6 powers up, then beeps. No lights, changed batteries. What is problem?

I have an instruction manual for IBM Wheelwriter 1000. The troubleshooting page in my manual for the machine coming on and having no lights is to make sure the cord is securely plugged into the typewriter and the wall or power strip and to switch the machine off and back on. Mine has a power saving mode where the lights go off after a while to enter power saving mode. I only need to touch a key to turn it back on.
Hope this helps - Cindy

How do i get my wheelwriter 30 back to original settings/

Take out one of the batteries from the battery holder and turn it on. The batteries are used for the memory of the machine. The machine will beep 3 times indicating the storage is cleared

It is most likely a bad keyboard. You can try my fix under WW1000 or contact Geo. Beyers Co. for a rebuild.

Machine beeps, no movement, monitor missing, tried turn on off.

Remove the batteries and unplug for 30 seconds plug in and test. Unpluging and removing the batteries causes it to reset to defalt settings.

Wheelwriter 3500

Does it beep and type or just beep? If it types try holding code and pressing S. If you changed batteries with the machine off the memory is gone.
