I have a Galaxy heavy duty Hoover 7kg washing machine. I have it for approx 15 years. However in the last few weeks, when we do the 1st wash it overflows. We turn it to spray rinse cycle and empty it and remove the clothes. We then restart allover again and it works fine. We do 3 to 4 washes on the weekend. Except for the 1st wash the rest of the washes work fine. Any solution regarding the 1st wash - why does it overflow?

SOURCE: water overflow

The water level switch is causing the prob, it could be sticking for one reason or another, for example it could be a partial blockage in the pressure chamber or the hose from the chamber to the switch.,it works on air pressure,so it must be clear of any restriction.
You need to check this before anything else.

The timer could be sticking OR: Is the machine empty of water when it stops? This information may help solve your problem?

The issue is with the cold water valve that is bad and should be replaced. Before replacing it you can try to swap the connections just to make sure if it is the valve. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
