Kenmore 51572200 Water does not dispense to ice maker. Water dispenser on door is fine. When I pour water into the icemaker, it freezes but never cycles beyond that. I heated the icemaker bottom with a blow dryer which caused the icemaker to cycle and push the ice out, but it will not transition to the next step of dispensing water.

SOURCE: Kenmore Refrigerator stopped dispensing water

Either your water tank in the fridge froze up, the waterline that goes up the freezer door from the bottom hinge froze, or the switch that your glass hits is damaged. Do you hear any humming or noises when you put your glass up to get water?

SOURCE: icemaker not making ice

First thing to check is to see if the optics are working properly. This is the red flashing light on right hand side of freezer wall. Close the flipper door, be sure not to block the beam, and the light should go to solid red. If it does then the optics are ok. If it continues to blink then that is your problem. If optics check ok then pull ice maker out and remove the white plastic cover. It just pulls off. Look at the center of the gear wheel and see if one of the plastic tabs is either broken or if they are sort of twisted and touching eachother. If any of these things with the gear have happened then that module will need to be replaced along with the ice maker thermostat. If your not sure how to replace these parts then just replace the whole ice maker. That is much easier and not much more costly.
After changing the parts or the ice maker out follow these steps to start the ice maker thru a cycle. 1. Remove the ice maker from the cradle but leave the harness connected. Remove the front cover from the module. Unplug the refrigerator. Get a small jumper wire with bare ends and jump T and H on the module, leave the jumper in and set the ice maker on the shelf. Close the door. Now plug the refer back in and wait 30 seconds. Open the door and the ice-maker should be cycling. Remove the jumper, put the module cover back on and set it back in the cradle. The fill should take place when the ejector blades reach the 12:00 position. Follow these steps exactly in order

SOURCE: no water to ice maker

  • The water line that's attached to the back of the refrigerator. Make sure you have good water flow. If the flow is poor, repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water.

  • The water-inlet valve. Replace it if it has failed.

Kenmore coldspot model 5155 2101 we just replaced the ice maker. I can fill it with water, it freezes and dumps but does not refill. the water dispenser on the door works fine

From what you are stating this is a dispenser refrigerator with 1ce/water through the door. This type refrigerator has a dual sided water inlet valve. It looks like the half that fills the icemaker may be bad or may have the power connector that came loose. This is the part on the back that the house water line connects to. It should 2 wires going to each of the 2 coils (total 4 wires). If wires are connected, I would say 1 coil is bad and the valve needs replaced. Since you already replaced the icemaker that rules that problem out.

My icemaker stop working but the water dispenser still working I check both water lines from the filter its ok but can't check the freezer line by icemaker. turly don't know why the water will not flow...

If there is no ice in the ice mold of the ice maker, you can pour enough water in to make cubes, wait an hour or so for the icemaker to cycle.( freeze and dump the ice). If it does, then your water valve on the back of the refrigerator that the main water line hooks up to is bad. Replace it. The valve has two sides to it. An ice maker side and a water resevoir side. One side can be bad allowing the other to work.

If the ice maker does not cycle and dump the cubes then you probably have an ice maker problem.

My icemaker has stopped receiving water

it sounds like your water valve is bad. you have a double water valve - one side operates the ice maker and the other side operates the water dispenser. the ice maker side of the valve is bad.

you can manually pour a little water in the ice maker ice mold and wait an hour or so - if it dumps the ice then you know for sure that the ice maker is cycling and water is not getting to the ice maker from the water valved

    Water not dispensing

Most likely your water control valve on rear of refrigerator has failed. Do this pour tap water into the ice maker make sure it is on and let the water freeze. If the ice drops and does not refill then the water control valve is the problem. If ice maker does not cycle then it is the ice maker. Find your model number around the door frame and tell me which model GE you have and I will tell you the replacement parts. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Icemaker makes shells. Outside is frozen but

Hollow cubes are caused by not having enough water in the ice mold. Fill it up manually by pouring water in it and see how the cubes turn out.
look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water. + is more water.

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

There is a screen filter before the water inlet valve in the water line. It can get partially stopped up with sediment blocking water flow.

No water in the ice maker

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps , and water doesn't go into icemaker , replace the water inlet valve ( the piece on the refrig that the wall waterline connects to . If it doesn't dump the water poured into it after freezing , then replace the icemaker .

No water going in the ice maker but water dispener

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and does not dump , replace the icemaker . Check to make sure the coils are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc . If it does dump , and does not refill with water , replace the water inlet valve ( piece behind refrig where the wall water line connects to on the fridge ) . Check to make sure the fill tube that fills the icemaker is not blocked with ice , still indicating a bad water inlet valve ( slow seep ) .

The water dispenser on the door works, but the ice maker won't make ice

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it dumps the cubes after freezing , but doesn't refill with water , then replace the water inlet valve ( part that wall water line connects to on fridge ). If the icemaker does not dump and holds the frozen cubes , replace the icemaker . Also check the fill tube at the icemaker to make sure it is not frozen closed , due to a seeping water valve , and make sure the coils are clean beneath refrig of dust , lint , pet hair , etc.
