Philips DVP3020 does not support popular vidoe formats such as DivX / xvid / mp4. so if you download movies from the internet and burn to a DVD, chances are it will not work. this philips player is very basic and can only play regular DVDs, VCDs and audio CDs. that is why it is cheap. you should try Philips DVP 3010 or 5140, even better the 5960.
you can go to divx web page and download a convert tool this should allow you to watch your dvd's and burn them to a more compatable format also try Realpay.com this also recon. divx & you can also burn new disc with this player in mp3, mp4,cd&dvd. modes.P
Hi, HTS 3565 this model does not supports the MPEG4 video format, but you can play
MPEG1,
MPEG2,
DivX 3.11,
DivX 4.x,
DivX 5.x,
DivX 6.0,
DivX Ultra,
WMV all these formats.
I don't know you exact model #, but the Philips DVP642, for instance, was tied only to DivX VOD service - a service that was cancelled after Philips manufactured the DVD player. So there is no longer any way to access it.
