I just bought one off a friend because he couldn't get it fixed, He said in the spin cycle it will dance across the floor, even empty. He had a Maytag repairman look at it and he said there was no problem, where do I begin?

Start by checking the legs at the bottom. If they are auto leveling they should move freely to absorb the vibrations. If it requires you to level them you can do it by turning the clockwise to shorten them and counterclockwise to make them longer.

My washing machine is starting to "dance" across my floor during the spin cycle even if there is NOTHING in it.

It most likely needs shock absorbers replaced. You can go online for your make and model washer. To see how to replace them . It is an easy job and the parts are not very expensive.you can find the parts online also.

This model of washer does not have an out of balance cut off switch. If the load is not balanced properly the tub could hit the cabinet sides. If the unit spins evenly while empty & out of balance while loaded, I recommend checking & balancing the load. If the basket spins out of balance while empty, I recommend having the suspension springs & balance ring checked. Be sure not to wash light fabric with heavy fabric clothes. Also ensure that the adjustable feet are level, that's most important.

When on spin cycle, the washing machine dances across the floor.

Try to level machine. Whe empty try to reset back legs pulling machine from rear up front leaning on front legs. Try to balance your load too.

Maytag LAT2500AAE- unbalanced

see if it has 4 adjustable feet on each corner on the bottom
get a bubble level from a hardware store and turn the feet to raise or lower OR you could use something else to raise the sides until it is leveled by looking at the bubble level.

hope this helps

Washing Machine Dance

Cars, does the basket lean to one side? There might be a couple of issues. The coupler that seats between the motor and trans could be wollowed out causing vibration. Another is that one of the balance springs came off or broke. I'm going to attach a photo of the springs so you can see what this looks like. You can remove the whole cabinet to check things out or tip the washer back and take a look.
