My Viewsonic n3260w has no picture when i raised the Back light. I brought it to a technician and he told me it was the main board. Bought the mainboard and installed a new one and it didn't fix anything. The Backlight comes on the green light in the front is on as well, but the viewsonic splash screen with the 3 birds doesn't come on at all. Any information or help will be very helpful. I already spent so much money on this TV i don't really want to give up on it, but its getting to be a little expensive.

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

You may have to decide whether it's cheaper to repair the old TV (if you can find a shop) or just buy a new one.

You need to find out if it is putting out the 24vdc needed by the backlight inverter board, you may have bad shorted out inverter board that may have taken out the fuse, you need to do some probing.

Check to see if you do have 12vdc from the power supply and atthe T-CON board's fuse. Worst case wilbe he LCD panel.

Ur LCD inverter board is dead.This board help to get the backlight to the LCD screen to make the Tuner board get the tv signal throught.Replaced this LCD inverter board will get ur picture back.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish LCD inverter board for the replacement.It a long board in shape.

I do not know the exact value but if you trace out the copper trace from the rectifier output, it should go to the first filter cap and then there will be an inductor and filter cap after that, you can figure out the voltage rating from there. It worked like a charm and took about 10 minutes to put in new part and put tv back together.

In my line of business I have purchased over 20 of these units. The power supply is listed on the Viewsonic Store web-site. Part# is B00005305 cost is about $65.00. Being a Tech myself I went the route of replacing individual parts but had no luck. Take into consideration time to repair its cheaper to by the replacement board. You can always fix the damaged board later as a back up.
