Hello john:
Here is the link for your manual: "CLICK HERE"
By reset switch do you mean the reset button on your case? If it is it should be a little indent about the size of a pencil or pen point near your Power button. Of course that all depends on the case your PC has. Just push it in with a pen and that will put your PC on reset.
As far as your motherboard goes there are two sets of pins on your board that can be hooked up to a reset switch. Its in the manual link I gave you.

Hope this helps, if it does just click the thumbs up.
Sincerely, Peter N.

I have a MS-6340 Version 5 motherboard with no sound.

Many mother boards require the electric line from the CD/DVD player to the mpther board for sound . Check your manual. If you have not one download it from the MSI website:

N1996 mother board

The only way to to fix this if your headers on your wires aren't labeled is to trace them back from the switch it self. Usually they are white and red. The orientation on the motherboard pins doesn't matter since it's only a switch. Make sure you are putting the plug onto the power switch jumpers, and not the power led, reset, etc..

Motherboard

what ever brand your motherboard is go to that website, then you should be able to look up the motherboard by the model number and get a manual.
