aiptek web site has a driver solution for vista users I had same problem but with Win XP it keep seeing it as a flash drive .... I uninstalled drivers and re-installed them,- same error, then uninstalled again and removed the USB from device manager uninstalled direct X cause it was the newest version, then install everything from scratch without turning the camera on then try again and nothing, finally I turn to the manual and somewhere says "if you need to use it as web cam then press the menu button on the camera and select camara!!! as soon as I did that and additional port found in windows was detected and installed automatically then I got my video and microfono up and running. So easy right, but like always the software CD is missing the manuals too and people do not read. LOL .....
here is a web sight link that has aiptek driver 1.1 for all o/s it was published in 06 so if you allready have that version driver let me know http://drivers.softpedia.com/dyn-search.php

I had the same problem, and my fix was really simple. Did you make sure that your mouse and pen aren't on the tablet at the same time? I took my mouse off the tablet, the pen immediately stopped jumping around.
Omg... I just found out how to get around this problem, so see if it works for you. I found that I could download a special driver that would cause the 12000u aiptek tablet to work. Here's what it is called:
hp12000u_vista_driver_beta
Download the driver, restart your computer, and there ya go! Saved me from having to spend even more money on a new pen tablet.
I found it simply by searching for "aiptek 12000u vista downloads" or whatever. Hope this helps!
