Wm-1480FHD will not fill. I can hear the click that usually starts the water to fill and the drum will go round but no water comes in. Yes the water is connected and switched on. I am in Hong Kong and LG will not service a uk bought machine so may have to fix myself with parts from uk or buy new machine all together if I cant fix it

The problem is either there's no water in the pipelines going to the machine, the water valves are not working or stuck closed, the pressure switch is stuck in the full position, or the pressure hose is blocked. Check first and make that water is running through the inlet hoses.

Disconnect power and remove screws on the back of the top panel then pull the panel backward and upward as shown.

Once the top panel is off, locate the pressure switch with a small clear hose attached to it. Detach the hose then blow air down into the hose and into the pressure switch. Also check the pressure hose for clogs or kinks and tap the pressure switch gently to free a possible stuck or welded contacts. Reattach the pressure hose then reconnect power and start the machine.

Re-disconnect power and disconnect and pressure switch wire harness if water still doesn't come in. Reconnect power and restart the machine. Replace the pressure switch if water starts to come in with the wire harness disconnected. Replace the water inlet valve if it clicks and doesn't click back right away but water still doesn't come in.

Error code le on washing machine wm-1480fhd.... drum stops spining in certain directions and then stops with the error code :LE

Well, according to the LG error look up table:

LE Locked motor error. Cause: The connector (3-pin), male, white) in the motor harness is not connected to the connector. (3-pin,female,white) of stator assembly. Or the electrical contact between the connectors. (3-pin,male,white) in the motor harness and 4-pin,female,white connector in the main PWB assembly is bad or unstable. Or the motor harness between the stator assembly and main PWB assembly is cut (open circuit) Or the hall sensor is out of order/defective.

Decoding the techno speak, this means that the little rev counter, built on to the back of the motor and connected by 3 wires has either come loose, fallen off, failed or its wires are unplugged. The result is the machine can't figure what speed the motor is running at, so it shuts it down.

Having trouble separateing drum from tub to replace bearings on LG wm1480. Do I need to use a puller?

Use a rubber mallet or an oak block to cushion the hammer blows. Be careful not to bend the shaft or your drum will wobble. Also don't ding the spline on the shaft.

My washing machine will not stop filling up. When you switch it on and set it to run on a normal wash, it will start ok and pump out some of the water but then it doesn't seems to stop filling up with...

possibly no part at all.
take top off and locate the pressurestat. this is usually round with up to 9 elec connections and a small diameter pipe as well.
take pipe off and blow down hard and check no split in pipe.
to check pressostat itself, put on a piece of pipe of the same diameter. put machine on fill and gently blow into the pipe ie pressure. you should hear a click and the water will stop coming in

Suspect drum bearings

most lg front loaders have the plastic outer drums which have about 16 h/duty screws holding the two halves together. extreemly tricky to strip to gain access to inner bearing and seal. Th/stat, motor, piping and other items have to be removed and dissassembled to enable drum to be removed. that repair i suggest for a service repair.
