The effect light won't stay on so I don't know by looking if effect is activated or not. The light goes on when I step on it but as soon as I release it goes out.

You probably have issues with caps in the power supply....I would check that first...open it up and look for buldging caps and replace any that you find....
It's probably the activate button. Maybe it is stucked, but more probably that is damaged so when you tap it with your feet, it's making these sounds...
If you don't have any or very small experience in electronics, then take it to the electronics service center for electronics engineers to look it up,
Hi! Have you read the manual? That is a good place to begin. Maybe you did not get one (if you bought your tuner used, or found it, or stole it, or something). You did not mention your model number, but one of the really common ones is the SAT500. Here's a download site for its manual: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/657760/Seiko-Sat500.html
Just stay cool. Concentrate on one thing at a time. And take your time. You will soon become a competent user. I think you will find it pretty easy, once you get a good start. Truly.
Ok. First, check your power supply voltages....then check IC2 for correct voltages and also check C9 ,C17 for ESR...clip signal can come from either woofer or horn circuits...lift one end of R19 in the preamp ckt....this will break the woofer signal and see if the light goes out...if it does, look for issues with the pre-amp after it seperates the hi and low signals...if not, then look for problens in the horn circutry.....and get a schematic....it will make it so much easier....good luck....
You can. If it is a tone control you may have a reduced effective rotation range. Probably this won't matter to most people. As a volume replacement, replacing with a lower value may reduce treble slightly, and a higher value increase treble slightly. It is quite a small effect though and you may even like it better.
View videos on YouTube regarding "mixer setup". Find the parts of setting up of "effects". Don't worry that you have a different mixer, the principles are all the same for analog mixers. Steps are this: Set the EFX send level for EACH of the input channels (knob above each channel gain) for the proportion you want for each channel. Check that the level you are sending does NOT cause the effect clip light to light very much. Set the effect you want, delay, echo, etc. with the selector knob. Advance the output sent to the power amp with the two knobs in the upper right of the panel. Adjust the "time" knob for the delay or effect depth you want. Then go over the same settings in the same order until you get the sound you want.
Hi ! I have the same problem. THERE IS DEFINITELY something wrong there. It's not that you've not selected the effects, but the units keep on resetting. Even if you can select a different preset, it will go back to 1 & 25. I've been told that the problem has something to do with the power source, but I'm still trying to get a solution. Best luck !
hello i repaired 1 of these last year if you open it up you may find that 1 of the diodes has blown change it, but you may have to change the 3 long transistor as well also look for any dry joints
Check/review your parameter settings for your programs. Especially in the Expression Pedal Control areas.
From their site:
--Harmony Footswitch This footswitch turns the harmonies on or off. While multiple harmonies can be selected within a preset, the HARMONY footswitch activates or deactivates any selected harmonies simultaneously. When the LED above the HARMONY footswitch is illuminated, the harmonies are on. When the LED is turned off, the harmonies are turned off.
--Note: The settings for FX Footswitch Control, Harmony Footswitch Control and Guitar Sensitivity apply to ALL presets. The setting for the Expression Pedal Control applies to the current preset only. If you modify the Expression Pedal setting and wish to store it you must Store the preset (see page 11 ). When you load another preset, its setting for Expression Pedal Control will take effect.
--To perform a Factory Reset procedure If you are editing a preset, press the Up or Down footswitch to exit edit mode. Press and hold the Major/Minor button and then press and release the Store button. The display will read FAC RESET- WILL ERASE ALL YOUR PRESETS... , then STORE=RST. Press the Store button again to continue with the factory reset. If you don’t want to do the factory reset, just wait 5 seconds, or press almost any other button, to cancel.
A BARE USB cable should NOT have caused any problem. If it was an "Active" type cable that does a conversion something might have happened. Another possibility is you had a static charge on you and the static did damage. Another possibility is if the connector really wasn't the SAME type and pins were shorted. Turn off the power and with a bright light compare the connectors to see if this last possibility might be the case. Also look for signs of arcing or bent pins. If the connector was forced, then it is possible the circuit board was cracked.. In any event servicing is required.
Search the web for a "Factory Reset" sequence for the unit. Usually you have to hold a button or a combination as you turn power on.
