ViewSonic Model. N2750W. turning on TV the screen powers on just for a "Blink" then shuts off, green led power on light stays on. I have noticed when the power cord for the TV is unplugged a spark emits from the ground connection. MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ONFOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device" and "menu"buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.


Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem


******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protectthe Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergenceIC and shut down.


SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES ANDTHEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOUHAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.


IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

Time to get a new TV. I have similar problem. In my case, the set turns off, LED blinking green for about a minute or 2, then the set will turn on by itself. Something the LED started to blink yellow after blinking green and then shuts off. I can turn it back on. This happens 3 or 4 times in an hour. After that, the TV stays on for as many hours as I want until I shut it off.
And then the problem repeats everytime I turn it on from a cold start.
I have my eyes on the 50 inch Plasma from Panasonic. Bestbuy has one for 999.99.

Look at the power supply first; look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc.

If you do have the voltages then the problem can be the main controller board.

Hold the Vol+ Vol- buttons down and turn on the power switch in the back of the unit.
The screen should turn blue and some square in the middle of it.
The noisy square is actually the bios being reset.
Once the unit turns itself off, you can turn it back as usual.
Note: Some of these units require a 3 button reset.
In that case hold Vol+ Vol- and Menu at the same time while you turn the power switch on in the back of the set.

I found if you hold the power button down on the remote or the tv , hold it down for anywhere from 2-5 minutes the green light will blink and blink and blink, all of the sudden it will stay on. then shut off, but if you turn it back on on the light will again stay on , do this 3-4 times and then the tv will turn on. Once you turn it off for over 10 minutes you will have to go through the whole rigamaroo again. This will only work for a while, mine has quit completely now. The Veiwsonic guy gave me a part number for a power board he said was most liley the issue. It ran about $71. I've got a repairman coming tomorrow to see what the dealio is. I'll let you know what he tells me, good luck!

We got the part in today and the hubby fixed the tv. It is as good as new. We are very happy with our $62 purchase.
