1 gallon of 90w Gear Oil -- can be purchased from AUTOZONE! Make sure when you have completely drained from the large drain screw from under the mixer toward the back of where the attachments go on but not part of the part that spins around known as the Beater shaft! Once you have drained out all of the oil -- from the top where the front screw attaches the head or cap of the mixer -- add the oil there and make sure you are watching the sight glass to see when it is at the HALF way mark in other words when the oil level (TIP: Use a bright led flashlight to shine directly at this sight glass to view level) reaches to the midway mark of the oval sight glass, THEN STOP! It is full! Carefully start mixer on 1st gear and then 2nd so on and so forth to make sure everything is getting relubricated correctly and slowly -- don't just go setting it on 3rd or 4th speeds as you want to baby the mixer when you just put in new gear oil
there are two oils to change. one for the trans. and one for the planetary.the drain plug for the trans. oil should be in back of the planetary take out plug let oil drain ,remove top cover take outstand off where front screw to top cover threads into put new oil in there till you hit line in sight glass on right side of mixer.
underneath trans. you will find a drain plug remove, drain oil, replace plug ck the sight glass @ this time if not clear would recommend replacing glass remove top cover where the front cover screw theaded into remove that is your fill hole. add new oil till you hit level line in sight glass, reassemble

You can use a heavy weight gear oil or call the local hobart branch for it.To remove oil----Look under the mixer where the beater shaft is in the back and you will see a three quarter inch nut, remove this nut and drain the oil then put nut back in.To fill the unit remove the top cover screws and remove the top,you will see a long hexagon nut in length, remove this and grab a funnel then add the oil---be patient it takes time to fill as the oil is heavy.
