I have a Mitutoyo depth mic model # 229-127. It needs to be adjusted by .00015. Most of our depth mics are manual and are easily adjusted but the roller dial is more difficult to adjust. Any suggestions? Thanks

At the end where the handle turns unscrew it and there should be some adjustment near the spring for precision adjustment.

How do I shut it off

Digital micrometers with LCD displays usually do not have a power on.off feature. Older units have an "on" button only that is used to turn them back on after a predetermined time-out or period if inactivity to conserve battery capacity but newer Mitutoyo mics cannot be turned off.

How do you put a preset in Mitutoyo uni-mics?

Normally you would adjust it to the part being measured then press the 'Zero' button to zero out the display. Now every time you measure the same type of part, it should read zero or the dimension plus or minus from that zero point.

How to reset depth micrometers , any style , easiest method for Mitutoyo line

The nut on the end of each rod is for calibrations. On a clean flat surface check your reading at "0"and see if adjustment is needed either left or right on the nut for getting before zero or after zero readings. Adjust the nut as little as possible and re check for zero multiple times because the nut is sensitive. hope this helps.

How to set up my jcam100 webcam built in mircopone? I got my webcam hooked up and its working but my mircophone isnt working. My webcam brand spanking new.!

You may just need to manually select your mic. Try this free video email site and click on the mic icon. Choose from the drop down list, and then make a short recording and play it back. Once you've confirmed which mic selection works, make sure you select it in any program you are using. If you need to adjust your volume, try this webcam technical support article which provides step-by-step instructions with screen shots showing how to adjust your mic levels.

I need a replacement thimble lock for a mitutoyo 6-12" outside micrometer(104-138 s/n#1080588).

i image the 6 - 12" is a fairly expensive set. you could buy the 0-1" which has the same thimble lock. i have one at home. and switch them out. can be bought $100 or less brand new. or search for an ebay bargain.ive never heard of the thimble lock go missing or break before. its doubtful mititoyo supplies replacement parts for mics.

My mitutoyo O.D. mic measures .001 bigger than it should. How do I correct this so it will be back in calibration?

If you are certain that everything is clean and otherwise in good condition, adjust it to read correctly by rotating the graduated cylinder with a special spanner wrench typically supplied with the mic. The graduated cylinder will rotate in the frame.

Large mitutoyo micrometers

I would recommend that you set each rod to zero using a set of jo-blocks to be perfectly accurate. I've been in the trade for 40 + years and this would be best for you. hope this helps you

0-1 OD Digital Mic Mitutoyo hard to spin

You have a nice micrometer! Your problem could be caused too many different things. I would take the lead screw spindle off first and then clean both assemblies. (You can use W-D 40) this will allow you to clean the I.D. I do not know how much you understand how a micrometer works and would caution you not to adjust any of the adjustmants on the micrometer because it could end up out of calibration. I would be happy to take a look at it and free it up and calibrate it for you! I was the Manager and working Supervisor of a precision Tool Room for over 25 years and have quite a selection of parts. I would not want any compensation for the help and I would just ask that you include a prepaid return package. I am retired now and miss the work and I am constantly cleaning all my tools and I could do it then. Here is my e-mail address [email protected]

Good luck, Jack

Distortion sound

turn down the gain at the mic pre, first plug in the mic then put the channel fader at optimum level, the 0 mark, then use the mic gain adjustment at the mic pre to set the level on the channel/ input meter, if recording using a digital platform keep the level as high as possible without going into red at all on the channel/ input meter, use the master fader to adjust listening volume and use the channel fader to make fine adjustments if needed but the point is to primarily use the mic gain knob to adjust the input level. If you are recording a loud instrument or cabinet with it then you may want to use the pad on the mic or the pad on the console/ mixer if after going through the above steps the level at input is still too hot, should be a switch on the mic or console wich says pad, if the mic has one then use the one on the mic instead of the one on console.
