Check if the thermopile receives enough heat from pilot flame, if it does, replace the thermopile.

How do you light the pilot

Turn the gas knob to the pilot setting, press it in and hold it. You should hear gas escaping while in this position. Do not let more than about 10 seconds of gas out at one time as it may pool. Light the pilot while holding the gas knob down for a minute. Release the gas knob (the pilot flame should stay lit) and turn it to the ON position. To make sure the gas heater is working properly, turn up the thermostat and see if the heater heats up. How To Light The Pilot Light On Gas Heater

Pilot light blew out by a fan..I turned the control off..How do I Ignite Please

First locate where to light pilot. You can do this by following thin aluminum colored tubing from control valve to inside heater. In general on top of your gas control valve is a knob. Turn indicator of this knob to pilot and depress knob. This will start gas flow to pilot at end of thin tube. Hold this knob in the depressed position and light pilot. DO NOT release knob for 30 -45 seconds. Then release knob and pilot will remain lit. Then turn knob to on position. If pilot will not stay lit you may need a new thermo coupler, which senses heat from flame to keep pilot gas flow open.
Good luck

Totai heater wont stay on after lit

Without a pilot flame sensor signal the pilot light will not stay on and the heater won't work. Try Replacing the pilot flame sensor, the pilot flame burns on to it and it connects to the valve. It looks like a wire.

Pilot light won't stay lit after releasing when lighting gas fryer

This symptom indicates something wrong with the millivolt system. Start by checking the wires from the thermopile to the gas valve, insuring they are all tight and in place. Check the hi limit thermostat, if you have an ohm meter it should read .1 or .2 across it. With you meter set to dc millivolts, and flame present on the pilot, read across the thermocouple wires (red and white) to see the millivolts generated, with the thermostat off and the gas valve in pilot position you should get approx 600 millivolt plus minus 50. The pilot will have to be on for a minute or so to get maximum millivolts. If the millivolts are correct, hi-limit closed, and all wiring is connected, you likely have a faulty gas valve. If the hi limit reads more than .1 or .2 replace the limit, if you are not getting the millivolts from the thermopile, replace it.

We have an older (22 years?) 'Insta-Flame (model HE30 TN) natural gas fireplace insert. The pilot light is out, as we painted to inside of the firebox. The instructions show to 1) turn the dial to 'off'',...

On some gas valves the pilot setting is on the same dial as pilot on and on .on others the pilot light has aseperate button on right side of control dial. If yours has this there will be a cut out on cotrol dial that must be aligned with button to allow it to be depressed to light pilot. If yours has this align control dial cutout with pilot button, depress button and light pilot, hold for about one min. and slowly release,if pilot light stays lit, turn down thermostat and rotate control dial normally to right . There should be arrows or marks on dial and gas valve to line up. If pilot light stays lit turn dial to next position and check to see that pilot is still lit. This should be on position, turn up thermostat and burner should light. If your dial has pilot light setting on it then rotate dial to each position, try to depress dial and when you have right one dial will depress allowing you to light pilot. Follow same procedure as above and you should be in business. Hope this helps.Thank you

My propane fireplace pilot light wont stay lighted help

Most gas valves have a flame sensor, which is a metal bulb at the end of a wire. The pilot light heats this bulb, and the valve stays open because there's a flame. If the flame has been out, you'll need to hold down the pilot light button for as much as two minutes after lighting the flame to allow the flame to heat the flame sensor up enough to keep supplying gas when you release the button.

Need to light the pilot light

I am not familiar with this particular brand. What type of heater is it? Normal pilot lighting is done by setting the gas valve to the "Pilot" position and then pushing on the valve to manually open the pilot. After this, light the pilot and continue holding the valve for 30sec to give the thermocouple a chance to heat up. Release the valve and it should stay lit. Turn the gas valve to "On" and you're done. If it doesn't stay lit after releasing the valve, replace the thermocouple. If it doesn't light at all, call a technician out to check gas pressure, orifice, and pilot assembly.

Dayton 3e239e looking for operation manual

Normally you turn the gas valve to the pilot position, light the pilot, hold down the gas valve knob for 30-40 seconds and release. If the pilot will not stay lit replace the thermocouple. These are available ay Home Depot.
