Hello, My name is Steve and I recently snagged my down jacket and made a small tear. My wife sewed the rip but, the location of the repair is about where the Marmot patch is located on the other sleeve. Would it be possible to purchase a patch that we could sew over the repair. Many Thanks Steve

Marmot has a great warranty policy. I recommend sending the jacket to Marmot Repair. They will typically do what your wife has already done...sew up the hole. If you write a letter explaining what happened and ask if they would put a patch over the tear https://www.amazon.com/Suriora-Charger-Samsung-Motorola-Smartphones/dp/B01IT06SSU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1481855706&sr=8-3&keywords=SURIORA

How to replace a torn screen

How to Repair a Torn Window Screen Fix small tears before they spread.
By Timothy Dahl

A good window screen lets the air flow in while keeping the insects out. But screens can tear easily if mishandled, and one little rip can spread quickly. Before replacing an entire screen, check out these do-it-yourself screen repair kits. They're easy to use and cheap to buy.
The traditional way of fixing small screen tears is by purchasing replacement screen patches that have turned down edges, which hold the patch in place after you fold them onto your screen. However, these kits can be annoying to use and often pop off after short time. The most popular screen repair kits are now adhesive and can be used on fiberglass or metal screens.

SCREENMEND
Screenmend makes a screen repair patch that works like a heat activated sticker. Just cut the size you need to cover the tear, while leaving about a 1/2-inch around the edge. Then place the patch over the tear and apply heat using a hair dryer. This will activate the adhesive, which instantly bonds to the screen.

Denim hole repair what setting?

Depends on the size and type of hole. If it's large with missing fabric, I back the hole with matching fabric, then zig-zag several times around the hole If it just a tear or slit that can be pulled back together and repaired, I use a darning stitch to connect the torn pieces.

Top thread intermittently goes through middle of bobbin thread

If it does ok for around twenty stitches and then pulls the bottom stitch to the top there is this problem:
1. Top thread has tension added all at one time. This means the thread is getting a snag somewhere.
2. When you thread the top do it with the foot up. As you are threading make constant small tugs to see if there are any snags.
3. When a snag is found it will have to be smoothed for the thread to move smoothly.
4. Check the thread while it is flowing through the needle. If it is getting a puff ball you will need to replace the thread with a quality embroidery thread.

I have 1998 bmw 323 the rag top has a few small snags in it. No tears just small snags that I dont wanrt getting worse.

If you don't want to hand sew the top then cloth adhesive will work to keep loose end from unravaling further. depending on the fabric and color I like a very small amount of either goop, contact cement, or a very small amount of superglue. for best results make a small repair in a not to noticable place and let it completely dry. then see what it looks like. if you don't like it don't do that again. Sometimes with contact cement you can hand mold the loose pieces after the glue starts to dry. goop dries a little quicker so you need to work pretty quick. superglue is the hardest to work with but done carefully it will give you the longest lasting and least showing result. be extra carefull not to get the glue on anything and make very small repairs one at a time.

Tears in a trampoline net

You can use a patch, but most trampolines fabric is made to stretch, and a patch interferes with that often transferring the stress to another location causing additional wear on the fabric. Best thing to do is to simply replace the entire mat. The weather is pretty ******* them.

My Whirlpool Duet front loader is ripping my clothing. It looks like it is being pulled, the area they are ripped looks like they are being pulled! I checked inside the machine to see if there was anything...

My washer ruined 2 king sheets 3 shirts and brand new jogging suit, so I know what you mean! The rubber gasket ...it had 2 metal bands..one on the inside which is a wide one and a small thin one on the outside of the gasket. You really can't see the wide one unless it has started to slipped off or break. or by taking the ting one off,..my wide band came loose which caused the screw to be exposed just enough for something to catch on it, tearing the material, it kept wrapping around and around untili eventually the band came completely off. I hope this helps.

Repair or replace?

If the rip or split extends from the voice coil out to the edge, the speaker may be too far gone to replace. I have repaired expensive speaker cones with epoxy cement, provided the tear is fairly small or narrow. No noticeable degradation of performance either.
