You would not be checking the pump to clear a motor error you would be checking both the motor and the motor control the pump controls the amount of water that leaves the unit and has a seperate function from the motor entirely two totally differnt systems if you have some electical ability you can disconnect the motor and do a bench test on the motor this will allow you to distinguish between which is causing your problem either the motor or the motor control by your testing and cleaning of the pump area you did nothing to alleviate the motor error and that is why the error code remains. If you have any further questions message me back I await your reply Thanks Rick
Have a Bosch front loader washing machine on the easy care side when spinning dry it rattles and does not rinses out very good but on cotton side no problems what can it be and to have it service how much would it cost
Yes that's quite correct you DO indeed have a "Motor Fault". That flashing LED, tells it all. Those things that you found, in the tubing? that could have blocked the pump, most likely cause the failure?
in any event it is a job for a tech, I feel, that's unless you are a dab hand at DIY & have access to tools and a service manual, then it really is beyond most people.
Ok now a reset will be performed if you simply remove the power from the wall. wait a min or so, and reconnect.
Now if that doesn't work, then my professional advice is to have the unit attended to by a professional. Now contact, either a head or local office of Bosch, now ask then for a referral to a local, servicing center. Ok, then, and now, when here, FIRST only ask for a "Quote" as to the cost and type of repair. This way you can at the least you can then make a decision as to what to do, repair or replace.
Now I say this, as these days repairs can quickly escalate, and customers tell me these days, that if the prospective charges are to be rather a lot, then they would prefer to put that money, towards a NEW unit, with a full warranty. It is food for thought.
Hi
Enter the diagnostic mode by using this sequence---
Set program selector switch to OFF position. Press and hold the two buttons closest to the dial then turn the program selector counter-clockwise to the first program position. Keep holding the buttons until the display shows P:01
Select test program: Push second button from dial to scroll through tests. Select P:04 for Motor test.Press START/PAUSE button. Test: Sequence:
Reversing - Counter-clockwise drum rotation at 50rpm.
Clockwise drum rotation at 50rpm.
To abort the test program: Press second button away from program dial or set program selector to Off position. If motor works fine in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions then motor is fine. If not then make sure the wiring harness to the motor is fine, also check whether 120/220 V is coming to the motor. Please be careful while checking the voltage. Replace motor if wiring seems to be fine.
Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Sounds fair, I am actually and elctronics engineer with a multimeter etc (dangerous I know), but is there anyway to confirm motor fault and which one. Would have thought pump motor should be easy to check and its saturday here and not going to get anyone out for a while. Also wondering as we have just had renovations and have recently noticed voltage fluctuations with lights flickering and was thinking this could have caused a motor to fail.
This model does not have any display to view error codes, just has rotary dial and lights to indicate if on or in wash, rinse or spin. Bothe the drum motor and pump motor spin freely. Is there a way to check which motor is faulty?
Thanks Daniel, although mine did not have the dispaly to show error codes, by going thu the sequence of it reset the washing machine and everything now works fine. Bonus points from wife for fixing onweekend and savingat least $100.

Yes second solution worked for me and enable me to rest machine and clear fault code after cleaning out pump motor.
