Top loading washer (wtw6200sw3) has dirty water leaking/spraying underneath the machine. Looks like it's happening during the spin cycle because of the spin pattern of the dirty water... Any ideas?

Thanks for the advice, Macmarkus... I would be interested to know the step-by-step to fix it, if possible. Is this the part that should be replaced? http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Applia...

You can send any instructions/PDF to frausimon at hotmail dot com

    Thanks again for your help!

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

I'm pretty sure I know what you're referring to and in fact I can explain what needs to be done to gain access and repair though it is pretty involved (via removing the tub...it's pretty easy once you see how).

It is most likely the seal under the inner basket (spin basket) and it is a non-serviceable part outside of replacing the complete outer tub assembly as shown here...
i.e. Top loading washer (wtw6200sw3) has - macmarkus_457.jpg I can guide you step by step on "how to" both access this and repair it, or I can send you a complete service manual for your washer, it's up to you. Whatever you think will best serve you. You will need to provide an email address I can attach the "pdf" service manual to if you decide you indeed want it. I'll watch for your post and we can go from there. Thank's for visiting FixYa today. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Is water supposed to enter the tub during the first half of the final spin cycle (not rinse cycle)?

no spin cycle don't have water it could be the pump is not getting the water out fast enough, could be clogged or the rear drain pipe is blocked or bent. failing them to problems it could be the valve its self.

I have a leak i check all hoses and fittings its looks like it happens when its in the spin

The washer pump on many direct drive models will leak around the shaft seal
when under torque of the spin cycle as they begin to fail. It can be seen on the pump itself
where it connects to the motor shaft. There will often be staining on the pump case.
(they are also pumping out water during this cycle).
Hope this was helpful.

I just did a load of laundry at my mom's beach house. Second load so far is fine, however, first load seemed to leek from underneath. All water/drainage connections were dry. We moved and cleaned area and...

If all connections were dry, the water may have overflowed the top of the tub during a spin /rinse cycle. That could happen if there was a lot of water (i.e. set for large load) and a small amount of clothes.

Kenmore washer series 80, Clothes still soapy

If you are getting no water spray during the rinse cycle that would cause the soapy clothes issue.

Are you getting cold water during the wash/rinse cycles? If you have the machine set to warm/warm you may only be getting hot water while the final spin is calling for cold.

If you have cold water available then the timer is not calling for the water spray. The problem is either in the mixing valve or the timer.
