Dryer clicks when start button pushed but does not start.

Dryer was working fine. Went to start another load in the dryer last night and when I pushed start, it only clicked. All lights on the control panel are working, but the dryer does not start or sound like it is trying to start. It only clicks and the lights start flashing. I have unplugged and replugged and this did not help.
I have checked the door to make sure it is closed properly. Any more suggestions?

A quarter was lodged on the thermal fuse , located below the lint screen on the blower exhaust housing, on our dryer. Remove the front lower panel , 2 screw, and you'll see 2 fuses. I suspect that our control board is burnt.

Last night My dryer started making a loud humming noise when you push the button to start it. . This morning I tried to start it and it wont do anything.

Sounds like your motor went out and may have kicked the breaker or fuse.

Dryer lights works, but when the start button is pushed the drum does not spin. the timer shows the minutes counting off, but no spinning. the dryer worked yesterday, but no today. dryer is a duet...

I am having the same problem. Dried towels last night. This morning, I loaded it, turned it on, it did not lock the door or start drying (spinning) but the timer started counting down. I pressed Cancel twice, unplugged it for a few minutes then tried again. Problem still exists. Any suggestions?

I have a Mcgraw-Edison speed queen Heavy Duty dryer. We used it last night and it worked fine except there was alot of condensation inside the dryer with a little water coming out the door. Now this...

You may have a venting problem. Check outside to make sure vent is blowing good. It is possible that the motor may have went bad with all of the problems associated with a clogged vent.

Dryer just sits and hums

if you push the start and it just humms it is a bad dryer motor to weak to kick on,to confirm this have sombody hold the dryer door button in and turn the drum when you push the start button,if it jump starts you know it's a bad motor-mike

Another Whirlpool Cabrio Sensing issue

Hi-- none of the solutions I've read here are working. Same problem, dryer not starting, it says "Sensing..." and then "Wet" and does nothing. It worked fine on the last load, except I noticed it read 11 minutes for a very, very long time (I think it got stuck). New load? "Sensing..." etc.
