    HI...
Is the tape monitor switch on? If so , turn it off.

Are there 2 C shaped jumper wires ( thick) between a set of jack pre-amp/power amp jacks in the back?

If not , you need to jumper those.

SOURCE: Amp wont switch off of stand-by

Both units have a problem with the output section. In case 1, the outputs are likely to be shorted. In case 2, the outputs are open. The low level and distortion come from you driving the speakers with the driver section of the amp. Both units will need to see a service provider.

SOURCE: Sound through one channel only.....NAD 310 Amplifier

If swapping of left and right input sources and left and right speakers does not help...you might have a bad channel in your amp.

NAD C521 on / off button light

"POWER ON: Press this Green button to switch on the power to the disc player from Standby mode. The LED will change from Amber to Green, and the EFL display will illuminate."

So besides the L.E.D. the unit has another visual indicator that it's turned ON, the display lights up. Is this worth pursuing a fix?

Sound through one channel

Only the right channel had a sound, the left channel is mute, whatever adjustment you did and whatever balancing you done nothigs happen, even you interchange the speakers. The problem is in the power amp. The STK IC there is busted already, it's better to change it with a new one so the performance become normal again.

NAD C340 has lost ability to switch between inputs

I have the same problem which started about a month ago and seems to be getting worse. I also noticed today, that 1 channel is significantly louder than the other - fault in the pre-amp stage, as feeding the power stage directly gives balanced, albeit extremely loud sound! Looking on eBay, I found someone else selling an amp with both problems. It would nice to think that NAD would acknowledge a design flaw, and fix for free, but my amp is 5 year old.
