Hi, Bought a Maytag front loading washer #MAH6500AWW about 5 years ago. 1. The amount of water remaining in the machine (if you turn the drum it sounds like SEVERAL gallons of water swooshing around) smells disgusting! How can this be drained out so that when a new load starts it has fresh water. 2. I leave the door open always when not in use 3.I have done the bleach cycles to no avail. I am very disappointed in owning this Maytag machine and never realized when they said "Water Saver" it meant reusing the same water load after load after load. I am going GREEN from the disgusting water, not from being Environmentally savvy!!!!!

I would say the drain pump is blocked.......... you could take the drain hose and leave open end at lowest point on the floor into a container and let water drain out..........easier if you can get machine to outside door and let water drain outside i did a zanusi last night...stuck in the pump was 9 small coins 1 hair grip and a womans bra under wire............
follow the waste hose at the back of the machine it ends at the pump......... open the pump then check it out...
good luck..
cheers

Maytag Neptune MAH6500AWW '03 front load nf code it is OVERFILLING won't shut off, water pouring out door! new drain pump last week & checked hoses in front 2 days ago. now this, help?

nf stands for no fill, so this means the washer's water level sensor is defective or plugged with dirt. That is why it is overfilling.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

This is symptomatic of a water control valve not closing completely- its no power/fail position is closed.
Whichever it is, hot or cold, needs replacing!

MAYTAG MAH6500AWW-WASHER WILL NOT AGITATE/SPIN

Hello,

Check out the motor control board near the floor on the right side. These have a high failure rate on the Neptunes. Maytag redesigned both the motor and motor control board to be more reliable. While inspecting this board, you are looking for a blown 10 amp fuse and /or burnt components. If you have either... then you will need the the new 12002039 motor conversion kit which includes the motor, motor control board and the wire harness.

See http://www.neptunehelp.com/index_files/Page667.htm.

This kit takes about an hour to install.

Don't forget to replace your door latch wax motor. See www.neptunehelpsong.com to hear a funny song explaining the faulty door latch failure.

This is a frontload Neptune. I think you will find that the motor control located in the bottom right front of the cabinet is bad.
