No power at all, tried a new charger still no power and replaced the battery.

Hi

After the battery and AC cord replacement and still not getting power there's only once culprit there and that is the motherboard of the laptop. I recommend you call Acer and have them replace it for you. Thanks

We bought in the USA a KAV60/AOD250 and use here in the UK with an adaptor for the different electricity. Unfortunately something has gone wrong with the leads as it sometimes shows up the notepad is on...

Here is the link to a company in Canada that has replacement AC adapters for Acer. The AC adapter for the Acer Aspire One D250 has a DC output of 19 volts at 1.58 amps which is what the AC adapter at the following link has. The price is C$12.99 so it is relatively inexpensive.

If you are handy with a soldering iron, you might try wiggling along the wire from the adapter to the plug on the D250. You might find one point where the wiggling consistently turns the D250 battery led on and off. If so then you can cut the offending section out and resolder the pair of wires back together. Make sure you don't switch the wires around. The plug has a negative shell and a positive tip. Should check with a voltmeter before you solder the wires and also recheck afterwards at the plug itself. Also make sure the wires at the solder point are well insulated so as not to short out across the pair. If you have in any doubts about doing this kind of repair, it would be better to just buy a replacement adapter.

Finally, you may be able to find an AC adapter retailer in the UK so as to possible have lower shipping costs. All I did was just google search "acer aspire one ac adapter"....

How do I connect my acer aspire 5050 to TV?

Since the Acer Aspire One D250 only has VGA output for its video, you will need a VGA cable to connect between the D250 and a TV that accepts VGA input as a video source. The sound is separate. A mini-stereo jack on an audio cable with two RCA phono plugs on the other end would be used to connect the D250 audio output (usually used for headphones) to the left and right audio inputs on the TV. You may need to use the TV setup screens to select the proper video and audio sources. With the TV on and proper video source selected, you now should be able to press Fn and F5 to get a menu in the middle of the D250's screen that allows you to select the video destination by holding down Fn key and pressing the F5 key repeatedly. The single large screen icon (3rd one from the left) is the one to select video output to VGA port only which would send it to your TV. The sound on the D250 does not need to be selected but you may wish to adjust its level and/or properties to be more suitable for TV.

My Acer D250 netbook starts show a white screen the reboots it self, sometimes it not only shows white screen but also gray or it run colourful lines then it restart. When it restart it start working fine...

Suggest using Acer eRecovery Management to attempt problem resolution as follows...
1. begin with the D250 powered off ...
2. if present, remove any external monitor (unplug its VGA connector from D250 left side)
3. power on and immediately press F2 to enter the BIOS / setup utility
4. using the right cursor key, cursor over to the Main tab of the InsydeH20 Setup Utility
5. if D2D Recovery is not enabled, cursor down to it, press Enter key and enable in pop-up
6. save any changes by pressing F10 to save and exit, otherwise press Esc to just exit
7. press Alt and F10 together while the Acer logo is showing to get entry into eRecovery.
8. eRecovery entry is indicated by message at bottom of screen "Windows is loading files...".
9. if not successful, power off, wait a minute then power on again and immediately
10. press Alt and F10 at the same time - do this several times while Acer logo showing.
11. once in Acer eRecovery Management (V7.0.10) screen, just leave it there........
12. if after a day or so, the screen has not changed, the problem is likely NOT hardware.
13. on the other hand, if your screen problem occurs after awhile, then it is hardware.
14. if it is not hardware, then your Operating System is likely corrupt or has a virus.
15. If it is not a hardware problem, you can completely restore system to factory defaults.
16. board level hardware repairs best done by sending D250 to Acer's authorized shops.
