Hi,Nicole, try this:
Run the water nearest the dishwasher (usually the sink), getting the water as hot as possible immediately before starting the dishwasher. This will help getting the tablet to dissolve.

Dishwasher not washing the tablet does not dissolve

I quit using the tablets a long time ago...just like you, they never really dissolved, and left residue on my dishes. I only buy liquid now, try a few out. You will be surprised when all of your dishes are actually clean, and nothing is left in your dishwasher when it completes. Best wishes with going back to where we started years ago...sometimes older things are better at doing things* Michelle~

Dirty dishes

Some brands of powder do not dissolve properly, also it is not recommended to use the tablet type powder blocks as they don't work well and cost more than normal powder.

Dishwasher cycle runs: tablet is not dissovlved, dishes dirty

If the dry cycle has a problem, check these:

Heating element
Drying fan
Thermostat
Heating element Your dishwasher has an electrical heating element that helps to dry the dishes. If the element is burned out, the dishes won't dry properly, and you need to replace the element.

Drying fan Many high-priced dishwashers have a small fan that blows air or heated air into the dishwasher to speed up the drying process. If the fan is defective, you need to replace it.

Thermostat Some dishwashers have a thermostat that monitors the drying temperature. If the thermostat is defective, the heating element may not cycle on or off properly. If that's the problem, you need to replace the thermostat.

Dishwasher 3 in 1 detergent tablet not dissolving.

I believe that the instructions for using these 3-in-1 tablets is to place it in the open dish detergent cup, rather than in the closable compartment, since the tablet needs to get doused by a lot of water in oder to fully dissolve and be effective in getting the dishes clean.

Since the tablets are designed to dissolve more slowly, they are able to be used for the entire range of washing cycles. If it's a constant problem and you don's have an open detergent cup below or next to your closed detergent dispenser, just toss it into the bottom of the dishwasher instead.

The reason that the tablet isn't getting dissolved fully is because the door is preventing the tablet from dropping all the way out and the door is shielding the tablet from quite a bit of water spray.

Another option is to take a look at your owners manual for the dishwasher and see if they recommend these all-in-one tablets versus regular powered detergent and liquid rinse aid.

Hope that helps and best regards!

My Hotpoint Aquarius diswasher won't dissolve the washing tablets

It sounds like you have a water supply issue. If you are on well water the screen in the water valve may be clogged. You can access this, remove it and clean it on most dishwashers. It is located in the valve where the water hooks up to the unit.

Dishwasher wont dissolve tablets or was the dishes

Never use tablets or gels in a dishwasher, especially in a water conserving DW like and LG dishwasher.
Buy a box of Electrosol or Cascade powder -- not a cheap generic product. You will be amazed at the difference. Tell a friend.

Good Luck!

What you will find is that the plastic nut fixed on the back panel that the top drawer pushes into has lost the rubber inner layer. Replace and your problem is solved
