Cannot select zipper foot on brother cs-6000i Unlike the other feet (J,R, A & N) that appear on the LCD screen so one can select depending on the foot in use, when attaching zipper foot "I" -which comes with the CS-6000i when purchased- this foot type does not appear to be programmed into the machine, and thus cannot be selected. I tried selecting J (using foot I) with the 01 straight stitch, but the stitches are coming out wrong.

SOURCE: unable to adjust tension,

Sounds like the bobbin thread is not inside the tension on the bobbin case. This normally happens when the bobbin is upside down. Insert the bobbin and pull on the thread. The bobbin should turn counter clockwise.

SOURCE: Brother CS-6000i - the bobbin thread is not coming

Check list:

1 - Flat side of the needle is facing the back of the machine.

2 - Threaded machine with the presser foot up - always.

3 - Bobbin thread is feeding from the spool in the correct direction and through the proper guides.

Lower and raise the threaded needle, holding onto the end of the thread.

If this does not pull the bobbin thread up, the timing may need adjusting.

There is a graphic for doing this as sewusa.com or take it into the dealer for service.

SOURCE: I am using my Brother

What kind of thread are you trying to use? Is it a decent fresh thread? If, it is old, throw it out and buy some fresh quality thread. Usually, cheap thread is the problem.

How to trouble shoot without a manual?

you can download a free manual at //www.generalmanual.com/Home-Sewing-Embroidery-Machines/Brother-CS-6000i-Sewing-Machine.htm

F4 might mean that the bobbin on the top is in the position for rewind, slide bobbin to the right for the error code to go away. Hope this helps, Sandy

Got bernina 1015 sport sewing machinewith one foot want to buy zip, buttonhole &overlock foot is ther a special number or do all bernina feet fit al types of bernina machines

This machine uses 'New style' snap on feet. The reason it is 'new' is because old style Bernina feet are the complete foot, whereas new style you just 'snap on' the foot base.

Ebay is the best place to find original Bernina feet at very reasonable prices. I recently purchased a solid steel 'old style' foot from UK for U.S. $28.

When purchasing zipper feet, decide if you want regular zipper foot or invisible zipper foot. Often it is cheaper to order both at the same time, due to S&H fees.

Have brother sewing machine sc9500. Need invisible zipper foot. Don't know which kind to get.

My invisible zipper foot is a plastic generic one which was describd as being "low shank" and it works fine on three different Elnas I own.

I would have thought your machine was a low shank style too, there is a fair bit of similarity between feet with low shank clip on style. So if your feet clip on and off the shank, then you should be able to clip on another type of foot too.

if you try this link http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/sewing-machine-presser-feet.aspx

then go through to the page for the foot attachment system that looks like yours you might be able to establish which one you need. THere is a brother high shank invisble foot listed, and an alternative part number. I jcan't see a Brother SC9500 machine listed so you might need to do a bit of elimination.

You could also email sewingpartsonline.com and ask them to help you identify the right foot.

Brother cs 6000i squeaking

By any chance were you using your walking foot when it was squeaking? I had the same issue and realized it didn't squeak unless I was using the walking foot, it was actually the walking foot that was squeaking :D I can live with that!

On the Brother XL3750, how many presser feet does it come with? and what are their functions?

Go to www.brother.com and enter your machine type. Look for online pdf file for that machine. It should be able to tell you what it comes with, what they are and what they are used for. Most machines come with a button hole maker, a zipper foot as well as a dozen other types of feet. Mine came with a free hand embroider foot, zipper, button maker, and two others.
Try online manuals, since you can read them, store them on your hard drive for easy referral later.
