My G3 phone is flashing the apple symbol while powering up but isn't powering up.

Thank for contacting Fixya, I will be glad to assist you.

What you can do, in order to resolve this issue, is start by resetting your iPhone 3G.
(Note: this does not remove any settings, data or media you have installed in your device)
• To perform a hard reset, press and hold your Sleep and Home Menu buttons for approximately 10 seconds.
• Once your screen goes black, release both keys. (If you see a white Apple logo before you release the keys you have held the keys to long and will need to start the reset process once again)
• The next screens you should see after the black screen, is the Apple logo screen followed by the main screen.

• This hard reset process should help bring your iPhone 3G back to normal functionality.

It would also be advisable to connect your iPhone 3G via its docking cable and provided wall socket adapter into a working wall socket in order to try and charge it.

If your iPhone 3G still does not charge, try connecting it with the docking cable to your computer or laptop to observe if it will take a charge then.

Should this process also not affect the way the iPhone charges, then you should look into using or purchasing another iPhone docking cable, as the cable itself may not be functional and needs to be replaced.

Docking cables for iPhones are fairly inexpensive (Under $20) and can be found in most electronics/computer stores that carry Apple products and accessories.
(Link: Apple Dock Connector)

Finally, if a replacement docking cable does not help the iPhone 3G charge, this may be a hardware issue and you would be advised to take the iPhone 3G in to your local Apple retail store or Apple Authorized Service Provider in your area.

Hi :My Tomtom does not start from the main push botton. My tomtom kind ONE XL.S

Assuming you have pushed the ON/OFF button, and had no success .... and have also pushed down and held down the ON/OFF button for a few seconds ... up to a minute, and your GPS still does not turn on ... then, you want to make sure the battery is fully charged before you try to start it again.
Note that it may not start while it is plugged in (to a power source) ... because it uses the battery as the primary source of power.

Plug the GPS device into the charger (wall adapter or your USB computer port) ... to charge the battery for a few hours... preferably more, like 24 hours or more. Then try to start the device again.

Iphone turned off and will not turn back on

This happens to me quite a bit with my iPhone. The way I solve this is by plugging it in to charge using a computer or wall plug (main point is that it has to be plugged in to a working charger), and then hold down to Home and Sleep button down at the same time (Home button is circle button on the bottom front panel of the phone, Sleep is on the top right of the phone). After holding it down for 10 seconds, and the Apple Icon does NOT appear, your cell phone is dead. However, if your phone is still working, the Icon should appear and as soon as it does you can release the two buttons you have held down. If this helped you please give me a thumbs up! I get cookies if you do! :)

Hey. I was plugged my iPhone into a wall charger. As soon as I plugged it into the dock it vibrated twice then suddenly stopped charging. Then again it vibrated... But only once then it went off....

Hi,

have you tried holding the power button and the home button on the front together? Anything?

if that doesnt work power up your comp with most recent itunes on it and hold the home button down on the iphone and keep held down while plugging to comp and keep held until a message appears on itunes saying a phone has been detected in recovery mode, then restore your iphone as new.

if your phone is over heating then its a safety issue, see if your still in your years warrenty and if you are give apple a ring they should help you out under your limited warrenty

I had the same problem just now with my iPhone 3G. It froze for like an hour and a half! I heard calls come in but wasn't able to answer because the screen wouldnt come up. I pressed the top clicker button and the main button for about 10 seconds and the apple logo came up (finallyyy). It took about another minute and then the screen came back up and prompted me for my passcode. I hope this can help you all!
