If it does not work, google canon europe and select support. Don't look for the powershot, but for the IXUS.

Canon Digital IXUS 850 IS how to use as webcam?

The IXUS 850 IS is designed to store still images (and incidentally, videos) to memory. It is not designed to stream live video to another device.

I know that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

Use a separate card reader to transfer the video to a folder you create on your desktop. Try using Quicktime to open it.

Ixus 65 movie recording but no sounds

Try this. While in the shooting mode, in the menu under the tools tab there is a mute control that turns all sounds off. Also under volume there is a control for playback volume.

Canon ixus camera says my movie clip is an error

The video files your particular camera makes should be AVI format. What media player are you using? I've heard of problems playing AVI files with Windows Media Player.
Try using a different media player like VLC or Winamp. There are also video format conversion programs out there for free. I use anyvideoconverter for that. You can get all of those programs from cnet.com's download center.

User hears faint static while on a call. It's not load enough to make it hard to hear the caller, but a noticable crackling/static noise can be heard in the background. happens on every call.

Cell phones transmit the sound as digital data. The data when converted back to analog to listen too CAN have "digitizing noise" which will sound like static.

WORSENING the problem is if there is noise in the background of the person sending the voice and the worst possiblle is to have MUSIC in the background. These both drive the CODEC (the analog conversion system) crazy and will create what you describe. The CODEC is designed to transmit ONLY voice.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Hey, the IXUS 850 IS doesn't take the standard AA batteries! It has a proprietary Li-ion battery pack that can be charged using the provided external battery charger unit.

Possible that the mic within the camera is bad or there is obstruction to the mic. Please check and clean any dirt , place the camera and shoot without holding to confirm if the sound is better or not.

I have the same problem with my Canon IXUS 190 digital camera. The videos look good, but the sound is just fuzz!
I have held it in different positions to see if it makes any difference, but it doesn't. How do I clean the microphone area in my camera? or is there something else wrong.
