I just fixed the same problem with a compter where I work at. All I had to do was open up the print spooler, delete all current print jobs still on the computer. Then, do a hard reboot by unplugging the machine, wait 15-30 seconds, then plug it back in and let it boot up.
After, it's booted up, completely, go through the current print jobs still stored on the printer, and cancel each one. After that, do another hard reboot, by unplugging it, wait another 15-30 seconds, and plug it back in. After it boots up, again, it should be working fine, and you should be able to print again.

Go to the Dell website. Search for firmware. Type in you model and it should take you to the page for downloads. Follow the instruction and install the new firmware on you printer.
