Hi,

The "USB mode" and "Connecting to Mass Storage" message will get displayed when the Camera is connected to the Computer and is recognized by the Computer as a Mass Storage device. This is not an error message and is a normal operation.
You can change the Mass Storage settings in the Camera (depends on the model) The USB Select or USB Connect option in the Camera can be changed to PTP, Mass Storage or PictBridge mode. Set the option in the Camera to PTP and connect it to the Computer and check if the Computer is recognizing the connection. Once the computer is recognized, it appear as a removable Drive.
You can transfer the images from the Camera to the Computer from the Removable Drive by copying and pasting.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

I can't download pictures to my computer error message says cannot detect camera

It may be a USB port issue or a USB cable issue. Try an alternate cable or a different USB port. Try other USB devices on those same ports to make sure they work. Try using a USB card reader to transfer photos from the card directly instead of plugging in your camera directly.

My Camera (sony Cyber shot) is displaying " USB mass storage Memory Stick" every time i plug in the USB. I just want to upload pics.

If Camera (sony Cyber shot) is displaying " USB mass storage Memory Stick" every time i plug in the USB, click on My Computer > Mass Storage icon > open folder and copy files/ pictures and paste them some where in your computer like My Pictures of My Documents etc.
Thanks.

When I try and upload pics from my camera to the computer my camera says "usb mode mass storage, memory card + internal memory" how can i upload the pictures?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Sony camera says Switch on [MENU] when i upload pic from USB cord

1) Try uninstalling then re-installing your Sony software.

2) When you connect to the PC and switch on, Click on Start - "My Computer". Your hard drives and disk drives should appear in the window.

Have a good look, is there a new drive, it may be called Sony, or USB mass storage device it may just be called drive E or F.

If so double click on that drive, if there's a folder there, double click on there, with luck you should see your pictures, that new drive is really your camera.

You should be able to move pictures by copy and pasting. Once copied you can deleted them from your camera.

3) You can buy a device called a "Memory card reader" Make sure its good for sony memory sticks.
You take you card from you camera and put it in the card reader. Then, once plugged into a USB port its just like another HDD as described in 2.

4) I should have said this first, try another USB port if you can, it my just be dust in the port making life hard............

Good Luck.

"little tikes- my real camera" can't upload pics

The USB connection seams to be very sensitive try pushing the USB cable into the camera firmly and wiggling it. Once the mass storage device is recognized be careful not to move the plug. The connection can be very flaky.

Good luck,

Mike

Uploading pictures

Mass storage is easier, in my opinion. In that mode, when you hook the camera up to the computer, it will show up as a device in My Computer. Then you can just access your pictures there.
