SOURCE: my DSC security system is reading
First of all go to your security box.Now you will have to find where all the sensors conect to the panell. These area's on the board are called zones such as zone 1 zone 2 and so forth.Chech and make sure no wires have came loose from the screw termanils also make sure their is no corrision (good contacts are key).If this doesent work you will need a magnet find out which zone you are having trouble with such as front door back door window ect.Now their are two different sensers one is a flush mounted senser this will look like a little box on the frame of what ever it is securing. The other one will be a inset one this will be harder to find.It will be inside the frame of what ever it is securing. In any case you wil need to run the magnet over this device and see if the panel will reset. If this hapens then you know that their is something wrong with the orig. magnet.(When you shut the door or window the orig. magnet will align with the senser). Some times the distance between the senser and the magnet will effect the senser. If the senser is a flush mounted senser then their will be some wires you can acess to see if they are making contact.
((((( I DO NOT RECOMENT THIS ONE. IF YOU TRY THIS ONE YOU WILL NOT BE PROTECTING THIS ZONE AND SOMEONE CAN NOW BREAK IN )))))The next thing to try is to simply look on the panel door and read where it says which resistor it needs and where it goes on the panel in relationship to the correct zone buy the resistor and install it in the panel.
((((( I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS ONE. IF YOU TRY THIS ONE YOU WILL NOT BE PROTECTING THIS ZONE AND SOMEONE CAN NOW BREAK IN)))))The next thing to try is the zone bypass. The instructions on how to do this should be on the back of the key pad door.
The next thing to try is to look in the senser to see if it has a battery. Some sensers have a battery and they need to be replaced from time to time. Now I have been asuming that this is a senser on a door or a window but their are other sensors that are optional on this panel as well.Check all wires on these batterys and make sure all outer housings are securly on the sensors.
If none of this works then you probably either have something wrong with the wireing or the panel its self is faulty. If so contact a security technician.
SOURCE: have ADT 3000 series alarm system - would like to set it to max
adt sw3000 panel does not support max button on key pad. best solution would be to have ADT tech reprogram Zones so windows are perimeter zones(instant when armed away or stay) and motions interior follower (instant when no perimeter zone was triggered first). doors stay exit/entry.
