Im not sure what you mean by 'link'. Maybe you mean Sync?

If you are looking to Sync the two devices, you have to upload your data to icloud. Apple gives us all 5GB of free storage. I normally sync my Notes App, Contacts, Calendar, Reminders and a few other. You have to be using the same Apple ID on both devices.
Go to your Settings. Go to iCloud. turn on the apps you want to sync.

You can sync iPhone contacts to iPad through iCloud. Only you need to do is sign in the same Apple ID on the iPad and turn on iCloud synchronization.

I can't sync my tablet to my phone

You most likely need to sync your iPad with iTunes on your computer, then sync your iPhone with iTunes on your computer. Then, all three items (iTunes on the computer, iPad, and iPhone) will be in sync. Everything is synced though iTunes, which is on your computer.

iTunes is the "Mother Ship".
Your iPad and iPhone are shuttles that dock with the Mother Ship.

Why isn't my iPad syncing with my iPhone all of a sudden? In the past I was always able to have it working. I even turned off my iPad.

There are different reasons for this issue. However, there is a great way to solve it. You can resort to this iPhone transfer software - Leawo iTransfer to sync iPad with your iPhone. Just follow below steps.

1. Run Leawo iTransfer after installing it on your PC, then connect iPhone and iPad to computer with the USB cables. The software will automatically detect the libraries of your iPhone and iPad, show the libraries of your iDevices in the left sidebar. Choose one library and the contents will be displayed in the right part of the window.
2. If you want to transfer all the files in the library from iPhone to iPad, you only need to click the transfer button at the right bottom of the window. If you only want to transfer certain files, you are able to hold "Ctrl" key and choose files, then right-click the selected files and choose "Transfer to > iPad".
3. After choosing files, you will see a pop-up dialog. Click "Transfer to List: iPad" in the dialog and then click "Transfer Now" at the right bottom of the dialog to start syncing iPhone to iPad. You will see "Save to Folder" option below "Transfer to List" option, you are allowed to transfer files from iPhone to computer by checking this option.
4. The software will start syncing iPhone to iPad after you click the "Transfer Now" button. The progress bar in the dialog will show the percentage of the process, and when the process is done, you will find the files in your iPad. You are able to check them in your iPad, or in the iPad library within the software.

Open iTunes. ...
Use the USB cable that came with your iOS device to connect it to your computer.
In iTunes, find and then click your iOS device.
On the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi."
Click Apply, then disconnect the USB cable.

If you've set up automatic syncing, iTunes syncs your device by default whenever you connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer. If you don't want iTunes to sync your device without being prompted, you can change this setting.

You can prevent unprompted syncing for any specific iPod, iPhone, or iPad; or for all iPod, iPhone, or iPad devices you connect to your computer.

To prevent unprompted syncing for a specific iPod, iPhone, or iPad:

Connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer.
In iTunes, select your device (below Devices).
Click Summary, and then deselect "Open iTunes when this Device is connected."

To prevent unprompted syncing for all iPod, iPhone, and iPad devices:

In iTunes, choose Edit > Preferences.
Click Devices.
Select "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically."
If this checkbox is selected, any connected iPod, iPhone, or iPad won't sync without being prompted.

To sync your iPod, iPhone, or iPad when unprompted syncing is disabled, connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer, and then choose File > Sync "Device Name" in iTunes, or click your device (below Devices) and then click Sync.

I have the perfect solution

1. sync the contacts of the iPhone to iTunes (the option will be disabled and has to be enabled this option is found under the info tab)

2. let the contacts sync to ur pc/mac

3. now connect the iPad enable the sync contacts option (for ipad) in the info tab.

this will sync all ur iPhone contacts to iPad and NOT the other way round (for this to happen after the sync disable the sync contacts option)

• Sync Music/Video from iPod to iPod/iPad

• Transfer Files from iPad to iPhone/iPad

You can not directly sync your iPhone to your iPad, however you can transfer the purchases, apps and music if you have your iTunes for both devices on the same computer.
If you want your apps/music/photos/ebooks/etc to sync to both devices;

Plug in either device first.
Under your device in iTunes, make sure under either the apps/music/photos/ebooks/etc tab you have "Sync ___ with this computer/iTunes" checked.
When you have this box checked, click apply in the bottom right corner.
After you have this checked and applied, your device will sync and transfer the apps/music/photos/ebooks/etc you have to the other device once it syncs. You can do this process vice-versa if you like.

Also, if you have the same iTunes logged in on both devices and you have already bought a song or app, you can download it again on the other device without the app or music purchase charging.
