How to Delete Your Facebook Account

If you're sick of Facebook, you can cancel your account. Once you've deleted your Facebook account, you will never be able to log in to it again, and all of the personal and contact information you stored there will be gone. If you just want to disappear for a while, you can opt to suspend your account temporarily. In this article I'll explain how to permanently delete your Facebook account, as well as how to temporarily deactivate it.

Permanently Deleting Your Facebook Account

1. Log in to your Facebook account.

2. Open Account Settings.

3. Under Linked Accounts, click Edit. Remove all linked accounts. Why? If you log in to Facebook within two weeks of permanently deleting your account, your account will not be deleted. If you are logged in to any of the accounts listed under Linked Accounts, you are automatically logged in to Facebook. Therefore, you should remove all linked accounts to ensure that the deletion process goes smoothly.

4. Open Privacy Settings.

5. Open Apps, Games and Websites.

6. Under 'Apps you use', click Remove. In the list, remove all apps, games, and websites. Again, taking this step helps the deletion process go as smoothly as possible.

7. if you want to save your profile data on your hard drive, now is the time to do it. Open Account Settings and click Download a copy of your Facebook data.

8. Head to the Facebook Help center to initiate the permament deletion of your account. You can search the Facebook Help center for "delete account," and you will find the same link. If you're sure that you want to proceed, click Submit.

Important Notes

For two weeks after you delete your account, Facebook retains your data in case you wish to reverse your decision. If you don't log in to Facebook for two weeks, your account will be permanently deleted.

Immediately after deleting your account, clear the cache of the browser(s) you use to log in to Facebook. Doing this is another way to make sure that you don't accidentally log in to your Facebook account or use it in the two weeks after deleting it.

Facebook provides the following disclaimer about deleting your account: "Copies of some material (photos, notes, etc.) may remain in our servers for technical reasons, but this material is disassociated from any personal identifiers and completely inaccessible to other people using Facebook." In other words, your data could remain on Facebook's servers for a while, but it is no longer identifiable as your data, nor is anyone able to search for it. Eventually, your old data will be overwritten and forever deleted.

If you accidentally use your Facebook account within two weeks after deleting it, you'll need to initiate the deletion process again.

Temporarily Deactivating Your Account

1. Log in to your Facebook account.

2. Open Account Settings.

3. Open Security.

4. Click Deactivate your account. Your account will no longer be viewable, but it will remain intact. Simply log in to Facebook again to reactivate your account.

Do you still have the access to all the accounts? Can you still login to the account/s using your email address "[email protected]"? I am guessing you have another facebook account with another email address. If you can login to your account with "[email protected]", Use this Delete Facebook Permanently . But if you have something important like photos saved on your account, you better download them or you'll never be able to recover them.

Login to your facebook account (the one you are deleting), click the link and again click the "Submit" button. You'll receive a warning message, confirm and proceed.

Note: Once done is done, you can't revert this process back, you will loose the account forever.

Warning: If you have problem or if you are confused with my instructions, please post back or I won't take any risk if something happens or if you delete another account instead of the one you intend to..

Good luck.

I have a Hotmail account I want deleted

Cathy,

I believe this link will take you to the page to 'close' you Hotmail account.
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=523898

Note the following:
When you close your Microsoft account (the email address and password you use with Outlook.com) your email and contacts are deleted from our servers and cannot be recovered. The email address will be released 60 days after you close the account and can then be used by someone else. If you use your Microsoft account with other Microsoft services, you will no longer be able to access them. Get more info here: How to close a Microsoft account.

Hi I am trying to log into my partners facebook account and do not have the log in details the email address connected to the account is [email protected] and regular email addesss is sobey...

There is no way to verify the authenticity of your claim but under the circumstance of requesting help for your family...maybe something can be done.
You will be able to access your partner's Facebook account but you can't delete or erase anything there (if that's your intention: FAIL).
1. Log in to Facebook using your own account.
2. While still logged in, search for your partner's Facebook account by the profile names as if searching for any friend.
3. Click on the profile pic to view pictures, videos and other media.
4. You can download and in turn save these media but you can't edit, delete or erase any.

I want to delete my account

hey,it is easy just follow my steps:
1.Back up your contacts from Facebook and notify your friends.

2.Uninstall any Facebook apps that use your account.(In order for your account to be permanently deleted, you must not log into it after completing the account deletion process. That includes not logging in via iPhone, Blackberry, or Motorola DynaTAC. These may unintentionally cause you to remain logged in even after you attempt to delete your account, which Facebook interprets as you not really wanting to leave them. While you could just log out of these apps, the safest measure would be to get rid of them entirely. And besides, what use in your new life would these apps be?)

3.Tell Facebook you want to delete your account.

4.Confirm your decision.

t_03_deletecaptcha.png

5.Again, confirm your decision.
6. Don't log into Facebook.
(Let's repeat that to make sure it's clear.

If you log in at your friend's house... your account will be reactivated.
If you log in at the public library... your account will be reactivated.
If you log in while loitering at The Apple Store... your account will be reactivated.
If you log in at work then a) get back to work and b) your account will be reactivated!)
7.Ignore the e-mail Facebook sends.

8.Don't click either button Facebook presents you with if you accidentally log in.
