My N64 has always worked. But recently it has not been sending a signal to my TV. The red light turns on to show that it is on, But my screen remains black with no picture nor sound. I have tried resetting it and putting the cables in and out but it still doesn't send a signal.

IT IS GONE. MY ADVICE IS TO BUY NEW ONE. THE GRAPHIC CARD HAS GONE BAD.
YOU CAN BUY NEW MOTHERBOARD AND REPLACE IT WITH THE OLD ONE THEN IT WILL WORK FINE AGAIN.

My N64 will not turn on. The red light comes on, but the tv says there's no signal.

Have you tried a new expansionpack yet. I tried putting in a new expansionpack for my 14 yearold N64 console and it worked again after that, It might just be that then.

I bought a N64. I have everything plugged in, but the N64 only has a red light, and the TV says no signal on every output.

I had an issue like this with my 14 year old N64 console so I tried a new expansion
pack in it and it worked again after that then. It could just be that.

Iv had an n64 before so i think i have a good idea of how to set it up. i've managed to tune my tv in to find where abouts it is but there's only a black screen.i can turn the n64 off an the tv screen goes...

Adjust the vertical or horizontal hold controls. This is helpful even if regular TV stations come in fine. If your TV has an automatic fine tuning control (called AFC or AFT), turn it OFF. Use the manual fine tuning dial to adjust the picture. If turning OFF the AFC/AFT causes your TV to display in black and white, then leave the AFC/AFT ON. Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the ON position. While the control deck remains ON, turn the TV off for 10 second then back on again. This resets your AFC/AFT so that it will tune in the signal from the control deck.

Move your control deck farther away from your TV. If the control deck is too close to the TV, the control deck may cause some interference.

My nintendo 64 is freezes in the middle of when I am playing it. Now when I re-start it to play the game again the red light would signal that the nintendo is on but no picture is going on the TV. Is it...

Well if it freezes and the screen turns black and than the tv screen says no signal and the light is on i had a problem like that with my 14 year old N64 console so it looked like it was dead and died but it was the expansion pack that did this it makes it look like it died but it didnt.

N64 will not play on new TV and Stereo Reciever

maybe it's just the T.V I mean the N64 is like 10+ years old and you're trying to get it to work in a new T.V! I reckon that your best bet is to buy an older T.V to play it with or get an emulator e.g PJ64 on your computer and then you can still play your games

N64 turns on but nothing shows up on the TV

I have the same problem and from what I've read elsewhere on the net, it seems to be easily amendable by one of two solutions.

- You can re-tune a channel on your TV (not one of the main ones) and it will find the frequency for your N64 to run on

- If you had a gamecube the yellow, red and white output cables that came with that are (apparently) compatible with both the N64 and SNES and that way you wont have to tune your TV.

Unfortunately for me, I did not have a GC and my TV will not re-tune due to the button on the controller not working! Good luck.

N64 has static and audio noise

If its got what looks like a cable jack plug, its an RF Cable. As is, if those get kinked up badly enough, the copper inside of them can become damages, which can affect the way it sends the signal to the tv from the N64. Those cables can be picked up from local game stores. my suggestion though, is if you have the connectors, go with the Red,Yellow,White setup, Red and White are the sound cables, and the Yellow is your video. Better sound from it.
