With scanners and printers, the first step with an error is to turn off scanner/printer and computer. Wait 15 seconds, then turn on computer (but not scanner/printer) and if computer is ok, turn on scanner/printer and wait to warm up. Carry out a check-routine if you know how to. If all else fails, return here!

The "scanner warming up" error is usually caused by dirty glass or mirrors in the scanner assembly. Here is a link to a step by step guide that tells how to open the scanner unit and clean the optics to clear the error.
code 42 error definitely caused by loose flat cable from the scanner down into the electronics. End of the cable does not have a plug, just solder on each element, push the cable into its socket.
this error is a scanner lost lock error and can be caused by the scanner or the logic board. if this error comes up immediately on power up the scanner motor is not initializing by percentages of failure the scanner is approximately 85% the logic board 15% i would change the scanner

There are 2 sensors on the background unit(Front) SF1.5 and SF 2
Both sensors look like black boxes. SF2 is nearest the reading glass and SF1.5 is below it. Make sure both are clean. There are also tests you can run in test mode to recalibrate the sensors, if that doesn't work you have to replace it.
15-380 means the exposure lamp in the scanner is not being senses.
Open the scanner and see if the lamp comes on.
If not, most likely the lamp has failed.
If it does come on, then the sensor or processor have failed.
error code communication error the scanner is not communicating with the cradle. It is important that the synapse cable is plugged into the cradle before the cradle power suply is pluged into a outlet. also could be the scanner did not pair up with the cradle correctly try rescanning the barcode on the cradle.
