My front loader Neptune won't start. The lights are all on and I can select various options but when I hit start it won't. The door isn't jammed, I've tried unplugging, I'm not sure what else to do.

Check out the door switch to make sure that it closes when you latch the front door. If it does not close the machine will be inoperative - safety measure.
Open the soap dispenser. Look down in front of the fabric softener dish. You should see a yellowy-green plastic cord (like weed-whacker line). Pull it. The door should open.
If you don't see the cord, remove the four screws that hold the dispenser lid in place to find it. Just don't lose it when you put the cover back on.
you have a door latch problem. the reason you can still push on the button is because this particular washer has a time delay function. i would recommend taking a look at the latch itself and possibly the wax motor that runs the latch.
I would say that you have damaged your door lock.
Most appliances have a door lock or a mico switch.
