Lack of hammering action usually indicates a lack of lubrication or worn piston orings. This hammer as well as many other makita hammers work with a piston moving forward and back within a cylinder. This piston moves a second piston within the cylinder with a pocket of air (pressure and vacuum). If there is a lack of lubrication or orings are worn, you will not get a good hammering action /force out of the second piston. Time for good cleaning and apply factory lube. The instruction manual says to insert a drill bit all the way but small drill bits, such as my 3mm masonry bit are to short to do that and still function. Then when I use the hammer drill function, t

If you are drilling in masonry with a masonry bit you don't need to have the hammer function on
Just put it on reg drill and just apply a little pressure you will start to see dust come up when you have applied the correct amount.

I need to replace piston rings in 5.5hp 160

Hi, the flywheel should be held on with a large nut to the crankshaft.
You need to loosen the nut but DO NOT REMOVE the nut. The crankshaft should have a small amount of back and for movement, place a lever behind the flywheel and apply pressure to the lever in the direction of the nut, I.E. away from the body of the engine. Using a soft hammer (copper) give the nut a solid hit, this should dislodge the F/w off its taper.

Briggs and stratton 6.5 pressure washer (only used once) wont start

empty the old fuel, replace it with new, spray a small amount of carb cleaner in the carb as you try and start it,, if this doesn't work, a short blast of starting fluid, but don't do that too often. once the fuel works its way into the motor, you should be ok

Engine will not start, almost sounds like it is backfireing out of the carburater ,I cleaned out the old gass and put new in, cleaned gas lines, blew out carb with air two times, it ran for about 10 seconds...

Pour a large amount of carb cleaner into the gas tank
With choke on full, pull cord often to work carb cleaner into carb and then let it sit for a day or four.
Your carb is dirty for sure.
The venturi and jets are so small on these carbs that they are easily clogged with gunk from old gas

18V Lithium-Ion X3 Hammer Drill

I always where possible dismantle new and sometimes older small power tools with gear boxes and replace or add to the grease with Molybdenum disulfide grease which reduces the friction a surprisingly large amount therefore increasing the available power at the tool tip and extending the life of the tool by a insignificant amount .
It is particularly noticeable in my Bosch jig saw.

Ran out of gas and wont start after refueling.

Fuel injected? You may have to remove the air cleaner and put a small amount of gas into the intake manually. Or worse case scenario, the fuel pump has quit because you ran out of gas. They really depend on fuel to keep them cool, and will overheat quickly.

1988 Ford Ranger truck, new battery and new alternator but car won't start, it just clicks?

the clicks are a signature of a bad battery, since your is new, it probally is not bad, i would try to jump the car with cables, even though your battery is new, you dont know how long is sat ont he shelf before you took it home, may be weak, 1 good jump to get the motor going and the alternator will charge it right up so wont have to so it again....

the only other thing is the starting system left to look at if that dont work is the starter, try banging on it a little with a hammer, not to hard though, as someone turns the key, this will sometime free up a locked up solinoid.

Good Luck

Sprayer wont spray or hold pressure

We use the both the 425 and 475 solo sprayers most days at work and when they start to lose pressure ( after 6 months of daily professional use) we purchase a complete seal kit and put it through them. The only part I can't work out how to remove is the inside cylinder, other than that everything else is easily removed and replaced.
