I do not know the reset code for my Toshiba 1080P 42XV505DB tv. I am having trouble setting the Sky remote as I lost my Toshiba tv remote,

Try to reset your TV. Unplug it from the power strip, then plug it back in within a minute. It might help. Make sure, you Sky is on, before you plug TV back into power. Of course, connection between 2 units must be intact.
Modern TV sets will scan inputs at "start up" and will show you available signal sources. Be patient: it might take a few minutes for systems to recognize each others settings. Also: after you done with that, remove a battery from your TV remote. that will prevent your next mishap.

1) Switch on the TV set
2) Press the TV button on the Sky Remote
3) Hold down the select and red buttons for 2-3 seconds until the LED blinks twice
4) Press the TV button on the Sky Remote again
5) Enter the 4 digit code for your make of TV (try 0206)
6) The LED should blink twice, if not recheck the 4 digit code used and go back to 1
7) Press the standby button on the Sky Remote (The TV should go to standby)
8) Press select to store this setting If the TV does not go into standby press the TV button then the standby button, then TV then standby, keep repeating this until successful. This will scan the codes used for a particular make of TV.

Sky don't list a specific code for the 26A3000R, but there are some generic codes for Toshiba TVs with a Rev 4 remote:

0536, 0581, 0063, 0473, 0530, 0746, 0121, 0742, 0173

Try each of the above codes until you find one that works the power and volume functions. If you have no success or you need code entry instructions, please post back and I will try to assist you further.

The model number should be on a white sticker on the back of the TV. If you can find it, please post back and I will obtain the correct code for your Sky remote.

There are some Generic codes for Toshiba TVs which are:

0536 1536 and 1221 for Rev 8 remotes
0063 0536 and 1121 for Rev 6 remotes
0063 0121 and 0536 for Rev 4 remotes

You can find the Rev number of your Sky remote on a sticker inside the battery compartment. If it just says RC1600/00 then you have the original Sky remote, but you can still try the above codes.

If you need instructions on programming the remote, please post back with both your model number and Sky remote Rev number and I will post the codes and instructions.

I've found two codes that work fine on a revision 8 Sky remote control and a revision 8r remote:

0056 (LG/Goldstar)
981 (General reset)

Both codes enable volume, channel selection and power on/off.

Yes, very often after removing the batteries to replace them in a sky handset, you do need to re-code the hand set to your type of TV. Refer to your user guide for the code number for your type & model of TV.
