Delayed shutter My camera picture taking is in delayed mode and I can't get it off. The flash goes off then the picture is taken. Do you know how to change this back to same time flash/picture taking? Thank you, Amanda

From the Record menu, select "Drive Mode."

That depends on what you want to do. The camera has two remote modes, the quick-response and the delayed. The quick-response mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. This is useful if you mount the camera on a tripod and want to shoot without touching the camera. The delayed mode waits two seconds before firing the camera. This is useful for group portraits, giving you the time to hide the remote behind your back before the picture is taken.

As for the exposure and other settings, again, that depends on what you want to do. In general, you can use the same settings you would use if you weren't using the remote.

Using the self-timer
Use the self-timer when you want to be included in a picture, or to ensure a steady
Shutter button press. Place the camera on a tripod or flat surface.
1 In any picture-taking mode, press the Info button to turn on the shortcut icons.
2 Press to highlight the self-timer icon. Press to choose a setting:
10 seconds- A picture is taken after a 10-second delay (so you have time
to get into the scene).
2 seconds- A picture is taken after a 2-second delay (for a steady, shutter
release on a tripod).
2 shot- The first picture is taken after a 10-second delay. A second picture
is taken 8 seconds later.
3 Compose the scene. Press the Shutter button halfway, then completely down.
The camera takes the picture/pictures after the delay.
Use the same procedure to take a 2- or 10-second self-timer video, but press the
Shutter button completely down.

are you using mirror lock-up or live-view feature?

1 In any Still mode, tap Settings to open the Settings
panel.

Check the anti-shake setting and turn it off to see if that is a problem. Batteries can affect that mode as well.

by the way in setting the timer for your camera here is what you are going to do...

-turn the camera on
-set the camera in recording
-press the Right Button beside the menu button (the incomplete circle)
-and then you will see that there will an icon showing in the left side part of the screen of the camera.

This is weird, usually shutter delays are caused because camera is trying to focus first, it really shouldn't happen after pre-focus. do you have a manual focus mode? if you do, try it and see if it works. if you dont, I would still suspect it some kind of focusing problem, but unfortunalty i have no idea how you can fix it yourself.
