I am trying to install ROKU video streamer into my Sharp TV model 27KS300. Roku says to plug their red/yellow/white RCA cable into the video in ports on your TV. I do this but nothing happens. I am assuming these ports are the same ones I use to input the DVD player. ??

Yes these are the same yellow white and red ports that you would use to connect your DVD player. I believe this television has one port in the front and one in the back. I might be wrong but I believe video 1 is in the back and video 2 is in the front. If you have tried video 1 and video 2 making sure you have pressed the video/input button to select the proper one after connecting your Roku then you have done everything properly. Make sure to try a different RCA cable to make sure it is not the cable that is causing the problem. Also try the Roku on a different television because if it is working on a different television with the same RCA cable then you'll know that it isn't compatible with this particular television.

WELL???? PDP4210EA hooking up to it?

I was able to find a service manual online which lists the inputs for that TV as the following:

  • RF connector (cable/antenna)
  • Composite (yellow video, red/white audio)
  • S-Video
  • Component (red/green/blue video, red/white audio)
  • D-Sub (analog PC connector)
  • DVI (digital PC connector)
Your Playstation would need to be plugged into either the component or composite connectors depending on which Playstation you have. The Playstation 1, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3 all can use the same composite cable, and the Playstation 2 and Playstation 3 can both use the same component cable. The Playstation 4 only uses HDMI, which your TV doesn't support, so you would need to use an HDMI to component converter (under $20 on Amazon).

As for the Roku, same rules apply, but it again depends on your Roku model.

Can I hook my Roku up to the sharp 25j-m100

You can if it's a Roku 2. A Roku 3 does not have the Red/white/yellow style cable you need, but the Roku 2 does.

How do i get my roku to work on sharp aquos?

The Roku is an external media player designed to function with all TVs. Depending on the model of Roku you have you need to conext the video out whether it be RCA (the yellow red whit cables) or HDMI into the corresponding input on your sharp TV then with your remote or the input button located on the side of the TV you need to change the TVs input to the the same input you plugged your Roku into.

Can I hook up my roku device to this tv If so what kind of cable do I need?

On the back of the TV/VCR unit there is an input for audio & video plugs. These will accept a composite video signal and mono audio signal. I'm not sure if newer roku has these outputs as they are low def only signals. The roku would need to have have red, white & yellow sockets. (Old Roku's had these....) Yellow is video, red and white are L & R audio. Use a y adapter to merge red & white together, and use a standard RCA patch cord to connect the roku composite outputs to the TV VCR inputs.

You didn't say which Roku you have, so I will assume you have a Roku 3 since it's the only one without RCA output jacks (the red, white, and yellow jacks you mention). You can return the Roku 3 and get a Roku 2. You can only attach the Roku to a switching box if 1) the Roku has the RCA outputs and your switch has A/V inputs. If you DO have the Roku 3, then you may be able to purchase a HDMI to RCA cable from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-RCA-VGA-Cable-1-8m/dp/B002ZUI68G

I can't get the video to work so I can use my roku. How can I watch roku?

Which way did you connect the roku? HDMI or with the yellow, red and white RCA cable? If you used the HDMI cable, look on the TV to see what number is on the input port. Select that number when you use the input button on the tv or the remote. Same goes for the RCA cables. Each input has a number next to it.

I have a RCA model 24V511T can I hook up a roku receiver to view Netfliks etc from the internet. I have hooked up the red white yellow connectors to the input ports on the tv set and nothing happens?

Hello,
First of all, make sure all components are powered up and plugged in. Next, check that your tv is set to the correct input by pressing tv/video or input button on either the front of your tv or at your remote. Scroll through the inputs by continuously pressing the input button until the see the roku video displayed on your tv.

Can't get Roku N1100 to work with Samsung LCD. Worked fine with older style TV. DVD input works fine. Connect Roku....Nothing. Samsung LN32C350. Attempting to connect with RCA style connectors,...

Make sure you select the correct input for your device. If you are using RCA cables then select the RGB option on your inputs, or it may RCA as a connection. If you are using HDMI then make sure that is selected.
