Sounds like the laser unit has failed!

SC322 - 1st laser synchronization error - • The 1st laser synchronization signal cannot be detected by the main scan synchronization detector board even if the laser diodes are activated.

Poss causes:

• Poor cable connection between the laser synchronization detector board and the LD unit.
• Laser synchronization detector board out of position and angle of reflection not correct
• Laser synchronization detector board defective
• LD unit defective

If switching the machine off/on doesn't cure it you probably need a new laser unit. Has it been extra noisy before it failed? Whining/screeching/rattling?

sc 322 is the laser unit problem. the laser unit needs replacing. it can only be done by a Ricoh technician.

sc322 is an error generally caused by a component in the laser unit. However, sometimes a faulty door switch can cause this error as well. The switches in question are the three micro-switches that change state when the right door is opened or closed. They are located on the front right side of the copier, above the fusing unit and behind a plastic cover. If you can remove these switches and test them individually, you can probably find the faulty switch. If not, you can replace all three as a set and hopefully the sc322 error will go away (once you reset the machine).

If replacing the switches do not fix the error, then the problem lies somewhere in the laser unit, possibly with the polygon mirror motor, but your best bet is to replace the whole laser assembly if you can.

Also check if any cables are loose and also if the laser unit is dirty.-Clean it.

sc322 is a Laser synchronization error:

Means that the laser synchronization signal cannot be detected by the main scan detector board.
Possible causes:
Poor connection of the interface harness which connects the laser synchronization detector board and the BiCU board.

Laser synchronization detector board out of position or is defective.
BiCU board is defective.

Unfortunately,unit needs service.

1st Laser synchronization error signal error. The 1st Laser that turns on inside of the printer can't synchronize properly to print out documents which is why this message comes up and nothing is printing. Probably is going to need to be replaced but a qualified service tech is going to need to look at it further.

1st laser synchronization error.  It is an expensive part to replace and in most cases its cheaper to by a used Ricoh.  There are some 1035s and 2035s out there that run around $700 in American dollars.  If you can find them.
It's possible there could be something going on with the power supply.
The toner spill can vacuumed as well as the optics and the rest of the machine can be cleaned simply with cleaner.
