Have a Maytag refrigerator model # MFD2561HES with water dispenser with filter. Volume of water from the dispenser is down approx. 50 to 75%. I am unable to remove the filter. Apply the twist but no movement and I am concerned I will break the casing it sits in. Any suggestions. Thank you

I just went through this problem after a major power outage from our December 2007 ice storm. I was able to reset the controller (computer?) to factory defaults and the water dispenser started working. I think it was just confused!

there are two water inlet valves on the back of refrigerator, one for icemaker the other for water in door. the valve for the water inlet is plugged or the soelinoid coil is bad. replace faulty valve, usually about 20 to 30 greenbacks at the appliance parts store

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. Your water tank is frozen! Itson the back wall of the fresh food section if you look behind the drawers you will see it. Use a hair dryer and heat it untill you get water out of the dispenser. This is a common issue with this model.
