The RCA brand has many codes since it has been built by different manufacturers over a long time. Try each one.

If no RCA codes work, and it is a newer LCD or LED TV, try programmable codes for SONY televisions, as the RCA brand seems to use the same codes as SONY for some features like Power/Volume Up Down/Channel Up Down.

I had rca remote that did not recieve ir signals but rf signals instead. Check online with rca or in owners manual for what type of signal factory remote sends. The dvd player I had was 5 dvd and that was the case. Dish might have an option like direct tv where you can program rf signals as well. Call dish network support or look online

The word from RCA technical support is that the remote for the L32HD31R operates on a different frequency and there is currently NO universal remote on the market that will work with the set. They say that they have plans to market a universal remote and that they are working with other manufactuers of remotes but there is no resolution or time frame available. In short, you will have to use two remotes and keep checking the RCA website for a breakthrough.

I'm not sure that I would have bought the TV if I'd known.

to program the dish remote to the receiver you need to access system info, if there is no system info button on the receiver turn the receiver off and press the up arrow on the front panel, then press record on the remote, to change the remote address hold down sat until all buttons illuminate, enter number between 1-15, press pound sign, then press record
