Havedid sound check that is ok. now how skype on phone doing echo sound test.now how do to home page the about me etc i know nothing about skype help

Please click this Check Your Audio and Video Devices to test your audio/video.

Do you have the correct audio devices selected? Did the test work?

After doing the above. Click this link to call the Skype test call echo 123:Click Here You should hear the voice and your recorded voice as well, if everything is ok.

Addtionally, are you on the most current release? If not install over what you have by clicking the "Windows 5.8" link below as well. You can do the above tests again after upgrading as well if needed.

check to see that your microphone is not muted. Do the "echo/sound test service" shown at the top of your list of contacts.

Open skype and click on the 'call' menu at the top of the page. Click on audio settings on the drop down, where you can configure pretty much everything. Make sure you have the correct mic selected and the volume turned up. You should then be able to test your settings by calling the echo/sound test service.

Try this. Go to menu "Skype" , then "Online Status" then click "online" . Hope it solves your problem

The Camera and Audio setups are unrelated in both Windows and Skype. Please check your Windows Audio devices volume settings and specifically the Microphone settings: it appears to be disabled or the volume level set much too low. The windows settings overrides the settings in Skype (or in other words, Skype volume settings are a subset of the Windows volume settings). Check that Skype audio is setup properly after starting Skype: Tools -> Options -> Audio Settings -> select your required devices and volume levels. During this ajustment process, make free calls to Skype 'Echo / Sound Test Services".

Set up Audio

Laptop x webcam/mic x Vista x Skype
If you have an older OS you may have to access your hardware from the control panel

TEST SPEAKERS
Right click on speaker icon in System Tray
Select "Playback Devices"
The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible
Right click on the volume graph and click "Test"
Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard

SET DEFAULT & TEST MIC
Click "Recording" tab.
Set required mic as default - click on mic font to highlight and click "Properties"
In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click OK
Click "Levels" tab and ramp up sliders ( adjust to suit later)
Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays

Restart computer

CONFIGURE TO SKYPE

Open Skype > Tools > Audio set up - run through defaults etc > Save
Make a test call from the inbox 'Echo/sound' test call

Check if your software is OK - go to this site and hit 'Allow' in top window.

If your webcam broadcasts in the left hand panel configure your webcam to Skype

If your webcam has a built-in mic
Open Skype > Options > Audio set up - run through check list > Save
Make test call from inbox using Echo/sound test.

If you have a laptop make sure your webcam mic is set to default before you go to Skype

Start Skype
On the Tools menu, click Options.
In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Audio Settings.
Select your webcam as the default microphone.
Save
In your Inbox make a test call using Echo/Sound test.

This means you need to tweak the volume levels a little and maybe also change the recording levels.

Echo is a common thin with VOIP communications and it may not go away fully but tweaking your levels shoul minimise it.

Also do not use VOIP type communications on low speed connections

Check in Skype sound settings if that is set up properly.
