DOES MY WHIRLPOOL DRYER-MODEL NUMBER LX7400W0 HAVE A FUSE? IT TUMBLES BUT IS NOT HEATING.

The model number posted doesn't to exist but one for sure is that all Whirlpool Electric Dryers do have a thermal cut-out (off) which is actually a non-resettable fuse located on the heater housing. Click on the link below then enter the exact model of your dryer then select and click bulkhead and locate the part named thermal cut-out/off, a non-resettable fuse.

Dryer will not stop running

Your machine may have a feature called wrinkle guard or wrinkle shield, which basically keeps tumbling the clothes without heat to prevent wrinkles from setting in. Turn that feature off and see if that does the trick.

Dryer heats, then quits

The thermostat that controls the heat has failed. Try one of the other settings on the timer switch ans see if it will heat, the different cycles use different thermostats.
