Panasonic TH-42PD50U 42 in. EDTV Plasma Television w/broken screen
Hi, this used tv was stored for 3 weeks in perfect working condition in my house car garage and its plasma
screen developed a long crack in a horizontal zig-zag line going from
left to right at about 4 inches from the bottom. Apparently the
excesive heat developed inside the garage in Orlando, Florida in these
days caused the cracking. Or maybe a misshandling when packaging it in
other tv carton box where a new 50 inches Panasonic just purchased came. Now
it does not work -- no picture or sound, only a buzzing sound comes
from the inside circuitry when turned on. Its pilot light turns red -
never green. I understsnd it needs a new plasma screen which is very expensive - more than $1000. What do you recommend with it? Can a used screen be procured? Better sell for parts?Where to sell? I tried in eBay with no avail... Please bring me a hand. Thanks, Cesar Agostini-Chapel email: [email protected]

hi you need to go in the menu and remove the cc1 or cc2-3-4 these are screens designed for showing tv station programming and other infos but they never used it
If you purchased it with a warranty, you may be able to get Panasonic to repair it. Check your warranty to get the conditions for returning it. The "new" Circuit City is operating. I do not believe they will honor purchases under the "old" Circuit City. However you can ask at www.circuitcity.com
