Lint traps are usually inside the front door housing.check for spring loaded latch.it is never necessary to actually dismantle any major part on dryers otherwise it would not be user friendly.go online if you don't have the manual and check on the basic maintenance of the dryer.if it is a condenser dryer you might want to look at the bottom filter which is usually behind the kick plate...again easily accessed.

I get an error message 13. the clothes are not drying properly I resently

The error 13 probably means that the thermostat is bad. However, Haier labels it as a "Dryer Heater Error". Thus the wiring or heating element could also be faulty. Yes , go online to the Haier web site, you will need the model number and the serial number to get the right manuel.

You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount. During the process you will be asked for the actual model number!

My portable haier dryer (HLP140E) has a bad odor. I got it brand new from Walmart. It was happening with the portable washer (Haier HLP21E) too but that has seem to have faded. I've used the dryer a few...

No any smell coming from a dryer is not "normal," no matter what anyone tries to tell you. I would seek a replacement model immediately. You are not the first to complain about this model. Likewise, I would seriously consider a replacement for the washer as well, even though the smell has diminished. I hope this helps and good luck!
