Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps

My glyph harddrive dont show up on my mac why?

If the hard drive was formatted on a PC computer in NTFS file format then the MAC will not recognise this hard drive.
If you want to transfer data between the PC and MAC then you need to format the hard drive with a PC in FAT32 file format. The MAC can read and write to a FAT32 formatted hard drive

Systemprofiler does not recognize glyph Unknown

1394 is fire-wire. Some cheaper fire-wire chip-set cards can have minor issues.
Usually they are sorted by removing it and placing it in another slot on the motherboard. If it continues to cause issues then consider a better card..

One of my servers had this issue until i changed to a better card.

If you are using BLUE-TOOTH then watch how far away from the source you are as blue-tooth only has a very limited transmission range and is susceptible to cell phones, wireless phones, baby alarms, and other radio interference.

My glyph is not loading and i did nothing wrong or weird to it, i want to smash it now!

Did you format the Glyph tabletop harddrive? If you didn't format it, it won't work.

Your Operating System is not stated, so let me give you an example using Windows XP. (Home or Pro doesn't matter)

Power cord plugged into the Glyph harddrive, and plugged into a surge protector, 6-pin Firewire cable, or 9-pin Firewire cable from Glyph to computer plugged in, Glyph power turned on, computer on, Windows loaded,

1.Left-click on Start, then Right-click on My Computer. Left-click on Manage, in the small fly-out menu.

2.In the Computer Management window, under Storage, click on Disk Management. The Write Signature wizard will pop up.

3.Use the wizard to write a signature to the new drive. The drive must be named. Name it what you want. (Drive 2; My Drive; Storage 2: Your name;
whatever you wish)
This drive must be named, or Windows won't be able to find it.

4.Now I suggest just making one partition, and it will be the Primary partition. Do this by selecting the Maximum Size. (Partitioning: Think of your harddrive as a large room. A Partition is a wall, dividing the room into two rooms. This time you won't be dividing the room. You will use the whole room. 250 GigaBytes of it) Choose -> NTFS.
Follow the instructions, let it format the harddrive.

You should be good to go now.

Did you format your hard drives thru the menu on the deck? If not you may need to format the hard drives first and then plug them in. *NOTE DO NOT FORMAT DRIVES THRU YOUR COMPUTER* format the drives thru the decks in the utility menu.

you could try a program like disk warrior or disk rescue, or you could try giving Glyph a call, they have pretty good warranty coverage.

My glyph is not seen on my mac

If the drive is connected via firewire, power the drive. If the drive powers and you can place your hand on it and feel it "spinning", and still it does not mount. Try a different FW cable. If still no mounting action, place your ear on the drive to hear any grinding or clicking. If the drive sounds to be operating normal, open disk utility.. Hard drive/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility The drive should appear in the left pane under your computers hard drive. You should see the button to MOUNT it on the top right. Hope this works
