DO NOT TAKE THE BACK OFF! That's not how this model works. There will be two screws in the back of the console that allows you to flip it up. From there undo the lid switch and release twould cabinet clips. The whole body will come off in one piece.
remove the control panel and bypass the lid switch terminals going from a plug on top of the washer into the control panel,if it starts spinning just replace the switch located under the top cover next to or just behind the lid depending on your model
replace the lid safety switch under the lid by removing the control panel and then the top cover and unplug the old switch connector under the control panel you removed and remount the new switch on the cover and lid mounting area
This is usually caused by the lid switch. These are inexpensive and easy to replace. There are videos at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that will walk you thru testing and replacing this part. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available.
Well the model # you listed goes to a Whirlpool machine so here goes.. The screws that hold the control panel on are located at the rear bottom of the end caps for the console/control panel, not the screws at the top of the control panel.. Once you remove those screws the control panel should slide forward 1/2 inch or so the up, and flip right over backwards towards the wall. Once that is flipped up you will see the lid switch located in the left front corner under that console. Remove the 5/16" ground screw from the green wire, lift the connector release and remove the wire from the switch. Then carefully depress the plastic tab to release the switch and it should more or less lift right out.. No need to disassemble the entire cabinet. whirlpool #8318084 $15-20 buks depending on where u are.. best of luck, have fun, ttfn
The hinge on the left side activates the lid switch. The hinge will have to be repaired or replaced.
Use a putty knife or a old CD to slide under the control panel on the right and left sides, where the control panel front meets the washer top. This will release the clips that hold the control panel to the top cabinet. Fold the cabinet to the rear.
Unplug the lid switch in the top of the cabinet on the left side.
Remove the brass clips holding the cabinet to the rear panel. The cabinet will come off so that you can access the underside for the hinge and lid switch.
you should either have screw at both sides on rear of control panel. if not you have tension clamps at right and left side at bottom of control panel in front. use putty knife. flip control panel back. undo lid switch harness. lift lid up and pull lid switch out. remove 5/16 ground screw first
U WILL NEED TWO TOOLS TO DO THIS JOB.A PHILLIPS AND A FLAT SCREW DRIVER.YOU NEED TO OPEN THE LID AND REMOVE THE TWO SCREWS THAT ARE LOCATED ON EITHER SIDE OF THE LID SWITCH OPENING.YOU THEN NEED TO LOCATE THE TWO SCREWS THAT HOLD THE CONTROL PANEL DOWN.ON THE SOUTH AFRICAN VERSIONS OF THE WHIRLPOOL TOPLOADER THEY ARE IN THE FRONT OF THE CONTROL PANEL WERE ITS VISIBLE ENOUGH TO YOU.REMOVE THEM AND LIFT THE CONTROL PANEL UP AND BACK.YOU WILL NOTICE TO CLIPS ON EITHER END OF THE TOP REMOVE THEM WITH A FLAT SCREW DRIVER ALSO REMOVE THE WIRE LUG ON THE RIGHT SIDE.YOU WILL THEN NEED TO REMOVE THE CABINET BY OPENING THE LID AND PULLING IT TOWARDS YOU IN A SLIGHT UPWARD POSITION.NOW THE DOOR SWITCH IS LOCATED ON THE CABNIT IT SHOULD BE SMOOTH SAILING THEREAFTER.TO PUT THE MACHINE BACK ITS THE SAME WAY YOU REMOVED IT.AS FAR AS A PICTURE THERE IS NOT MUCH AVAILABLE.GOODLUCK.MOHAMED
