I just purchased a Philips HTS5580w/F7 home theatre. It is stated as being 3D ready but requires a software update. I cannot find the update for this model on Philips website

There is no software update as it is already able to play BluRay 3D as detailed in the Manual.

Before you start, make sure that:

• your TV is a 3D TV, and is connected

to your home theater through HDMI,

• your disc is a Blu-ray 3D disc, and

• you have 3D glasses that are
compatible with your 3D TV.

or the 'Fault' could be that the 3D is turned off

From Page 18 of the Manual

Play 3D discs in 2D

1 Press ( Home ).

2 Select [Setup] > [Video] > [Blu-ray 3D

video] > [Off] .

3 Press OK .

4 Play your Blu-ray 3D disc.
» The 3D video is displayed in 2D.

If it is selected as Off then obviously turn in On.

How to update the software of philips SW9810

There is no firmware for this model. Yu can check yourself on this link.

Find your product

For every update there is a condition, the electronic needs to work perfect and the battery / power supply must be capable of delivering enough power during the whole update process.
When an electronic device is start acting strange, a software update is the worst thing you can try to solve the problem.

I dont have Aux in function in my philips home theatre model lx2600d Is there any way to create aux in to my philips home theatre?

Does your unit have any analog inputs? If you only have digital inputs, you can purchase a analog to digital adapter. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

Surround system did not come with manual

You did not indicate the model of your home theatre system. The Philips websites can be a source of information including the Quick Start Guide and User Manual.

For the Philips Blu-ray Home Theatre Sysytem see here.

If this not your model try searching the site. You may also switch to your country of purchase in the top right corner of the website.

If you require further help, please reply with your model information.

I need to hook my hts5580w up to my tv so it plays the sound from my comcast cable

You'd probably get better digital multichannel audio if you source it from the Comcast Cable Box. Treat it like any digital source audio component and skip the TV, which adds nada to the audio by being in the loop.

On the other hand your video will be best if IT goes straight to the TV from the Box and skips the Philips. Again, nothing gained and more possibly failing interconnects if it routes to the HTS.

Home theatre but TV without audio outlet

I would suggest that you smash
Philips HTS w/a hammer!
I had better sound from TV alone! Only 2 speakers put out sound from TV. Recordings from DVR can not be heard very well w/all volumes at max. System sucks! You get what you pay for! $2500 LCD TV sounds worse w/Philips HTS than my son's $300 TV! ALL cables hooked up as instucted!!!!
